0/40 at stumps day four, lead by 136.

West Indies made 411, captain Kraigg Brathwaite made 160 from 489 balls, the most balls faced by a West Indian batsman since Brian Lara made his 400*. Brathwaite batted for 710 minutes, the third longest amount of time batted by a Windies batsman. The top two longest are by Lara, 778 mins when he made his 400* and 766 when in made his 375.

Jack Leach bowled 69.5 overs in the Windies innings, the most overs bowled by an English bowler this century.
The match ended in another draw as England made 6/185 in their second innings setting the Windies 282 to win and they finished at 5/135. Brathwaite made 56* from 184 balls taking his tally to 673 balls faced in the match, the most balls faced by a West Indian in test cricket and the second most balls faced in test cricket of all batsmen in the 21st Century.

Jack Leach bowled 94.5 overs in the match, the most overs bowled in a match by an English bowler since 1962.

I'd be guessing Chanderpaul probably held the West Indian record for most balls faced in a match previously?

Braithwaite would have to be one of the most unconvincing semi successful opening batsman ever. Has no style at all and a technique you'd think wouldn't last 5 overs. Credit to him for showing such determination but is someone i cant stand to watch

No, Brian Lara previously held the record for most balls faced in a test match, 582 vs England in 2004, when he made his 400*.

Whilst its crap cricket to watch I'm glad to see the Windies have a trio of batsmen in particular Braithwaite, Bonner and Da Silva who are willing to dig in and try and play a test innings. Its been a long time coming for the Windies and can only hold them in good sted as they move forward.

For the first time in 15 years there looks to be some light at the end of the tunnel.

West Indies are eking out a 1st innings lead on day 2 of the 3rd test v England.

8/221 late in the day in response to England's 204. Every run is valuable it would appear.

Just a very average side. Think we have won 1 of our last 17 tests now. The batting is just bog average but once again not picking the big 2 with the ball when Robinson was clearly not fit, Archer out and wood Is always doubtful is just simply criminal.

Embarrassing but not unexpected. England have only won a series once in the Windies since 1968 ( Winning in 2004)

Love seeing the improvement in this Windies squad....

Great for test cricket and hopefully lift the support for the side back in the islands.

Personally I would appoint Stokes as captain. Root clearly needs to focus on his batting rather than the captaincy. Stokes is a guy who will put in one match-winning performance every few matches, but otherwise have quite patches regardless as to whether he's got the skipper's job. I just don't think the captaincy will have as much of a negative impact on his cricket as I believe it has had on Root. And I think it's probably time for a change there anyway.
