Just looking at the documents for the Park 25 upgrade. Looks like a nice little pavilion is to be built.

Isn't that Railways Oval? Anyway SACA's grand plan is to build a First Class standard ground on the city fringe. Reduces the reliance on Glenelg Oval and provides a more permanent venue for 2nd XI and Women's national games.

"The works described within this specification pertain to the services installation at Park 25 located in the North West Adelaide Parklands adjacent West Terrace.

The works involves the privision of services as specified herein for a new 3 storey function, clubroom and workshop facility with one floor below ground and two above"

Looks like workshop / groundskeeper area underground, changerooms etc at ground level and bar/viewing/dining on level 1.

Seeing as Booney is commenting on it and knowing what he does for a crust I would say the project is out to tender.....not just pie in the sky dreams anymore.

Probably, but I didn't see anything about it in here and now I'm looking at the job I thought people in here might be interested.

That makes bit more sense then - i know there had been a lot of talk about it for a few years now, i thought it was a definite - but i guess this confirms that.

With the completion of this upgrade, Adelaide Oval and Glenelg, could be a good chance to host Matador Cup down the track as well.

I think that is the long term goal. But we still don't have enough ovals available. Would require some negotiating with SANFL clubs to get the grounds available. But hey NSW host games at Hurstville Oval which is the infield of an outdoor velodrome!

Correct. I searched the project and all I found was "proposed" works, once I got wind of it being a go-ahead I thought I'd chuck it in here.

If we can manage to host 17's and 19's Nationals, surely we can manage to host the Matador Cup for two weeks! Most grounds would be better than Hurtsville or Drummoyne.

To me it appeared that it was that building. It's definitely in need of an upgrade.

Don't they host Women's games at Railways oval now? I think I read that on here.

They host all sorts, the women's SA team play a lot of midweek games there, they also host rounds where all 6 women's A Grade teams play at the same time.

They have a little stand there already, don't they?
