Incredible effort by the Aussies well done. Hopefully you beat them now.

When was the last time warner made a hundred outside of Australia? He just doesn't have a great defensive technique to cope with the movement, he gets away with it in Australia because wickets are nice and true.

Does David Warners "Entertainment" factor mask/protect him from coming under the scrutiny others would?

I believe he has only made two hundreds outside of Australia, both in 2014

Probably a nice time for Warner to step up now.

His partner in Renshaw is one that I have been impressed with on this tour. Great application to his batting when he has bee out there.

Quite possibly the lack of options floating knocking down the door helps him along with the fact that there have been so many changes to the top order recently that they are reluctant to change an older head.

Yeah, they are obviously reluctant to use him over there though.

Looking at the team, it's not often that we produce a side where less than 50% have their spot pretty much consolidated no matter where we play.

What I'm getting at, does SOK get a walk up start in Australia? How many failures on the trot can Renshaw, Hanscomb, Maxwell or Wade have before they lose their place?

Smith, Starc, Lyon and Hazelwood seem to be part of the furniture.
Marsh is like playing a family Christmas match with Grandma batting, unlimited lives and finshes batting when her hip plays up.
Warner would be getting looked at.
Renshaw and Handscomb have passed their tests so far and would think that they have a few chances up their sleeves.
Wade's the luckiest keeper of our this era.
Maxwell would be pretty happy to get the monkey off his back.
SOK will pave way for a seamer which will be Starc upon his return.

You have to stick with this unit after the last performance

The only change I'd consider making is Agar for O'keefe given a) the overs O'Keefe bowled b) has that extra height to get some bounce and the bat pad in to play, c) is a better bat and gives us better depth in the batting making our ability to bat longer (runs and time) better.

As i said I'd consider it but still go with the same XI.

SOK thoroughly outbowled Lyon that test and was unlucky several times. Doesn't help when the keeper drops simple chances. SOK stays for me

How so?
Surely we play two spinners in the last test and no way should Agar replace either unless there is an injury. Talk of SOK going out for Agar is absurd

Part B: Gaz has been a backbone of ours at times consistently, not sure if SOK is of the same ilk on flatter pitches.

I was more referring to long term after this tour.

I think the fact that his 'home' form is real good that his spot is not in danger.

Selectors have said they are going to go with a more 'horses for courses' attitude towards the batting line up which would mean Warners spot on away tours would have to come under scrutiny.
