Starc and Lynn named despite being currently injured while Aaron Finch, James Pattinson, John Hastings and Mosie Henriques have been added to the ODI squad. Marcus Stoinis has retained his spot while James Faulkner has been dropped. Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh, George Bailey, Billy Stanlake and Sam Hazelett have also missed out.

Bowling allrounder spot looks a problem. Faulkner at his best was a great death bowler. Hastings Henriques and stoinis could go for plenty.

Interesting khawaja didn't get into the squad either

Hastings is a pretty decent death bowler.

And they seem to not like picking Khawaja do they, seems if there's one bloke to leave out it's him. He should of been picked over Chris Lynn who is nothing but a domestic T20 specialist.

The biggest shock of this squad though is not having a Marsh in it. Amazing that the selectors to resist their urges and not actually picked one of them!

yeah very surprised mitch didnt get a gig, even though I think the other allrounders deserve it over mitch

reading the article, it seems like there is a ton of players playing the country season, so we shouldnt have too many issues with injury replacements either.

Reckon travis head's bowling will be crucial in our team as he will be the 6th option

I reckon this is how they line up

David Warner (vc)
Aaron Finch
Steve Smith (c)
Chris Lynn
Travis Head
Matthew Wade
John Hastings
Pat Cummins
Adam Zampa
Mitchell Starc
Josh Hazlewood

Moises Henriques, , Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, , Marcus Stoinis

They may even go with pattinson over Zampa if the conditions are right. And they may bat head at 4 and maxwell at 5 instead of lynn, especially if they do go with all quicks

With Head, Maxwell, Stoinis, Henriques, Cummins, Starc, Pattinson all able to do a bit of both, it certainly is a flexible squad.

I thought they'd go with:
Warner, Finch, Smith, Lynn, Head, Stoinis, Wade, Cummins, Pattinson, Starc, Hazlewood.
Spares: Zampa, Maxwell, Hastings, Henriques.

Yes I agree, I think that's the 11 they'll go with.

Mitch Marsh has a shoulder injury benny, not sure you remember that? I was referring more too Shaun but a bad shoulder didn't stop Mitch from being selected to go to India.

James Pattinson is playing for Nottinghamshire and has started the season strongly which is a great sign.

I think in England they will want to play the extra quick, which means no Zampa, which means Head plays as he's the preferred part time spinner it seems.
Or are you saying Maxwell in for Stoinis?

Not sure, I just think they'll gift Maxwell first dibs, not saying that I would.

Not classed as an official game and they are protecting the main decks in the middle

So many English grounds have wide 'squares' so can utilise the outer decks in these games

They've done it for ODI's in the past too I reckon.

Certainly not that close as the boundary has to be a minimum of just over 59 metres
