Another great decision by Head after winning the toss NOT to bat 1st
Obviously likes to play catch up all the time and chase 400 on the last day as they'll be doing again here.
Obviously this match means SFA but any decent team has no hesitation to back themselves in by batting 1st and applying scoreboard pressure to their opponent.
Feel free to post all the reasons to justify Head fielding 1st .

Quite laughable to think now that earlier in the season, Head, Weatherald, Ferguson and even Lehmann were talked as Test hopefulls.
Most are lucky to hold their spot in the Redbacks !!!

As for the Dukes ball, EITHER use it ALL the time at ALL Levels of cricket or F**K it off all together. Shield cricket has become enough of a joke as it is and the prestige of it is all but a distant memory as to what it once was.

I'd like Ross moved on - always gifted a game when a player is out. Raphael MK II at Shield level.

Another wasted season that promised so much.
What do we need for next season.
Bowling looks ok, bit inconsistent and need to learn to cleanup the tail.
Top class spinner would help as well.
We need a senior batsman for next year.
Someone who has missed the boat for international selection but still good enough to lead this young side.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Could trade Mennie for NicMad.

Would still leave us with Sayers Richo Worral Winter Valente Benton and Grant.

Is there a reason other than patriotism that we don’t use the dukes ball all the time?

Seems to be a better ball doesn’t it?

Are there any downsides to it? Does it not reverse as much?

Disappointed that we haven't at least tried Carey a bit higher up the order this season. He's 25 not out again and batting with the tail.

I'd move Mennie and Richardson on, and even Zampa if he's not in our 4 day plans.

Worrall, Winter, Sayers as the front line 3, play Valente as the all rounder and Benton/Grant as the back up quicks.

Move on Ross and Cooper, push Carey up the order and play another batsman - maybe Dalton, Page or Nielsen.

Round 1 2018/19:

1. Weatherald
2. McInerney
3. Ferguson
4. Head
5. Lehmann
6. Carey (w/k)
7. Dalton
8. Valente
9. Winter
10. Sayers
11. Worrall

Pope's no good, cant bat, cant field.

Don't mind the rest of your order though - only personal preference i'd want an extra bat though, we are pathetic.

we can hide him. he can only get better with the bat and in the field. otherwise look at Andrews?
i think you need a spinner, i still think Zampa could be a very good 4 day bowler i just think he is being told to maybe bowl that one day scenario kind of spells.
