The Ashes 2017/2018

Postby The Dark Knight » Sun Sep 24, 2017 10:54 pm

Two months out, time for a thread for what will be a much anticipated series, I can't wait. Two teams that have both been reliant on a handful of players to win matches while carrying some passengers will make it an interesting series. Which side will have the more consistent team performance and retain/regain the earn?

I just read an article that Toby Roland-Jones is out of Ashes contention because of a stress fracture in his lower back. Steve Finn and Jake Ball would be the most likely candidates to replace Roland-Jones.

England will be announcing their Ashes squad on Wednesday. I can't find any info about when Australia's squad announcement will be. Perhaps that'll happen when the ODI series against India finishes.

Come on boys let's get them back.

Stokes had a nice little Ashes warm up it seems over night.

Lets hope he is suspended for a couple tests, the naughty bugger
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Arrested on suspension of assult. It's been reported that he's been sent for an X-ray on his hand. There's also speculation that he'll be stripped of the Vice Captaincy or even left out of the Ashes squad.

The chance of him losing the vice captaincy is up there but surely he won't be left out of the squad.

The should leave him out of the squad, but given his importance to them winning I doubt they will.

Agreed, he could well be the difference between the two sides so England need him in their side to retain the Ashes.

No chance he's being left out of the squad unless he seriously hurt someone because our chances in the ashes rely a lot on him. He's a bit of a twit at times and needs to stop getting himself in these situations.

Coward, whacking a bloke who clearly wasn't looking for a fight.

Bring him to Australia for the Ashes, i'm sure there are plenty of yobbos that will happily take him outside after a couple of pints and belt him.

You would hope the ECB will now make a statement as the footage has emerged. He could be heading to prison.
