Broad nicks one through gully for 4.

Cummins bowls him a ripper bumper and Broad gloves it straight up to Paine.

7/148, Cummins has 3/30. Lyon 3/50

Don't think we'll see Root again.

Doesn't matter, if he doesn't bat again then he'll just be retired out - he can always retire, retiring hurt just keeps open the option of returning which sounds unlikely anyway.

Ruling
Retired hurt (or not out) If a batsman is injured or falls ill while batting, he may retire and resume his innings at the dismissal or retirement of another batsman. ... It is therefore possible for the side batting last in a match to lose despite only losing nine (or potentially fewer) wickets.

Pitch was fine, we dropped Cook on 60 odd and he goes on to make 240 not. That was the problem.

Granted Smith dropping those catches hurt, but you reckon we would've taken another 10 wickets in the 2nd innings?

Maybe, maybe not, once Cook batted for two days we were never going to find out.

Lyon delivers one that stays low, Paine misses it and it hits the helmet behind him. 5 penalty runs to the Poms.

Cricket Australia's marketing department deserves the one finger for that classless backdrop to the presentations.
