First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

I'd replace Kahn with an international keeper/batsmen to replace Carey and use one of Cormack or O'Conner as the spinner.

Kelvin Smith will probably open and Nick Winter will or Wes Agar will replace Stanlake
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

Reckon you're probably right, it's not an ideal time of the competition to be bringing guys in for their first game though in a SF, and losing arguably our best two batsmen and two most dangerous bowlers is a huge hole.

Makes a mockery of the competition though - who even cares about international T20 games. Get rid of them, or schedule them so everyone can play

If they hadn't dragged out the season to make more money it wouldn't have been an issue - could've finished the BBL well before the T20 internationals started.
Once again CA put $$ at the forefront of their thinking.

Sodhi? He's probably playing for NZ in that T20 series.

I think Rashid Khan only misses the GF (if they make it).
Cant see them getting an international for 1 (potential) game.

Who'd be the biggest left-field name we could bring in for a grand final?

Virat Kohli?

Didn't Royce Hart play a cameo grand final for Glenelg once? Haha

I’m not a fan of T20’s full stop but surely Internationals take priority over a domestic comp

The ICC.....I mean BCCI don't give clearances to their players to play BBL.

I don't think so. Actually think the IPL/BCCI has a rule that it's Indian players can't play elsewhere.

Edit - snap

The Adelaide Strikers have made two changes for Thursday night's top-of-the-table clash against the Scorchers in Perth.

Right-arm quick Wes Agar and left-hand batsman Kelvin Smith have been added in place of captain Travis Head, who rejoins the Australian ODI squad, and paceman Peter Siddle, who will be rested ahead of the Strikers' home semi-final at Adelaide Oval.

Interim captain Colin Ingram will again take the reins after blasting 68 off 36 in a match-winning performance against the Melbourne Renegades on Monday night.

The match, the last to be played at the WACA, will determine top spot on the KFC BBL|07 table. The clash begins at 4:40pm local time (7:10pm ACDT).

The team ranked highest on the BBL ladder to advance to the tournament final will have hosting rights to the decider, to be played on Sunday, 4 February.

Strikers squad v Perth Scorchers
Colin Ingram (c)
Alex Carey (wk)
Wes Agar
Jono Dean
Rashid Khan
Ben Laughlin
Jake Lehmann
Michael Neser
Liam O'Connor
Billy Stanlake
Kelvin Smith
Jake Weatherald
Jon Wells

Appears to be a trial run for Smith and Agar with an eye to the SF.

Surely they can schedule both games far enough apart so everyone can play.

Really?
I’d much prefer the Strikers to win the BBL GF than Australia winning.

Let me see, a made up team that has a few Queenslander's, some Tasmanian's, some Victorian's, a bloke from the ACT, an Afghani and a South African who "represent Adelaide" OR the Australian national team. Yeah, #straya.
