I'd play Tom Cooper ahead of Handscomb just have to tell him if he doesn't score a ton before each match he will be dropped, will average more than Bradman.

Only way to get him out of the Redbacks team

From that table you can see why Shaun Marsh was picked again. All the selectors needed was him to make a few runs in the shield and he was going to be in.

Kurtis Pattinson has stared this season well, I would like to see him notch up a 1000 run season before we pr okmote him but he is one for the future.

As for Renshaw, FFS make some runs please. If he can turn around his form then he is the ideal opener for us.

I feel Smith will make his way back into the team once he plays some shield cricket again. Hopefully he would replace S.Marsh.

I am hoping the selectors stick with Trav Head for a bit, he has what it takes just needs some mentoring about his temperament.

Australia should enter a team in the Sheffield Shield comp so we can taste success.

We have no backbone, the Indians bat slow but look solid, we look shaky in defensive mode yet we don’t have the artillery to play attacking, we were blessed with an amazing 1 to 7 for so long, we can’t replace like for like anymore, the cupboard is empty.

We would be about 5th or 6th in the pecking order of test playing nations now in real life.

Paine drops another tough one

Would want to hit some runs since keeping us his speciality.

It was a real tough chance

But how many times does a keeper have an opportunity to effect ‘their keeping’ speciality.

If Wade for example was keeping in this test what chances would have he missed that Paine would have taken. Remembering keepers dropping a regulation edge of a paceman is one in over a thousand. Having seen most of the test I would say zero, maybe one at absolute best if we go the Vihari first innings wicket.

It’s not just the chances Wade misses, it’s his lack of cleanliness behind the stumps in general, especially to the spinners.

First innings drop was a bit easier but that one he dropped off Pant I would think would get missed more often than not by all keepers - pushing across the bat, inside edge catching them wrong footed and getting enough angle to escape the dive.

FWIW I think Paines batting has been very good this series also. Think we could play Wade as a specialist bat, but overall think Paine is the right man.
