Australia bowling tight line and length and India valuing their wickets.
Lyon getting some turn and the quicks beating the bat.

I'll reserve my judgement till day 4 and 5.

Lol ever the optimist
It is shit, the turn Lyon is getting is slow, he is getting no bounce, we will even handle Jadeja on this deck.

India for me are way to negative, they are getting half volleys and half trackers outside off that they just let go through to the keeper, could you imagine Ponting, Hayden, Gildchrist doing that, heck even Langer wouldnt be letting them pass.

This is about the only thing working the aussies favour at the moment - if they can get on a roll and pick up a bunch of quick wickets could still only be chasing down a modest first innings total.

Difficulty appears though to be whether they can take 10 wickets on this pitch at the moment.

Think the bowlers have improved their areas over the game, and Cummins looks a chance every spell.

I am with Haddin... this is a depressing wicket. Test cricket is receiving a helluva setback thanks to the Sporting Capital of the World.
To have one team out of the contest by stumps Day One despite not bowling badly is an indictment of the highest order.

Should be a draw except the possibility that the Aussies dont have the patience that these two are showing to make the most of whats been served up.

2 wickets in 4x sessions, no wicket in more than 60 overs and 2 sessions.

Says it all really.

What we need to do is bat for the rest of the test (if we get in), thinking of Sydney

Postby RustyCage » Thu Dec 27, 2018 12:14 pm

Haven’t seen much so far, so can’t really get a read on the pitch. Is the pitch a road and India aren’t trying to score runs? Is it a difficult pitch to bat on and we are bowling poorly? Or just a shit pitch to bat or bowl on?

4 sessions
0.5 wickets per session
69 runs per session
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Maybe that is what the Indians are doing. Good luck to Starc and co backing up in Sydney

India should just bat for the 5 days, then we might finally see some action taken. CA is all about the $$, couldnt possibly prepare a wicket that could have a test over in 3 days despite that being the best chance of us winning the series. Imagine the crowds on day 4 and 5 if India are still batting :D
They do that they will be certainties to wrap up the series in Sydney

They will bat until about 500 and then declare, try and knock us over quickly, have another bat if that happens and then bowl on the final day.

They wouldn't want to bowl back to back in this test with the short turn around for Sydney.

Also 5 to 10mm of rain forecast on Saturday

Still think we're headed for a draw, but knock the next two over quickly and there'll be a bit of renewed interest in the match.

Cummins is so far ahead of Starc and Hazelwood ATM.
