Im fascinated to see how warner copes in england. Hes going to cop an unbelievable amount of stick and he doesnt cope well with that at the best of times. Smith will cop plenty but warner will get an absolute barrage from the english fans.[/quote]

The Sonny Bill masks will be rolling out in thousands .

The Barmy Army are a very creative bunch so I do look forward to the songs and chants they come up with for Warner.

If Warner gets picked, and he shouldn't, he's going to need to have croc skin.
The barmy army will cane him with zero mercy.
I can't see him getting picked unless he's making consistent triples in grade cricket, or if he plays county he goes big.

That's the difference between the two, Smith will cop it, probably hold back a tear but will let his bat do the talking, Warner will lose his shit as well as his concentration and proceed pick on the smallest bloke in the England team.

Both are struggling to be fit enough to find form before the first test!

Personally I don't think we'll ever see Bancroft in a baggy green again, he'd get sledged to buggery and wouldn't handle it, he reminds me of the young dude from the Shawshank Redemption.

He obviously likes to sledge himself still. When Maxwell got out in BBL the other night, he said in interview it was Bancroft carrying on out there. You would think he would bite his tongue for a year at least before being a mouth out there!

Warner is an imbecile with maturity of a 3 year old, he won't have changed. They'll get to him and he deserves it.

RIP Roo Yardley.

What do we think about the mankad?
Should a warning come before the attempt?

Looked to me that the batter wasn't trying to gain a massive advantage.

There's too much money involved now for warnings etc. They need a line in the sand and no grey areas, gone are the days of being a "good bloke" about it.

If you lunge forward to play a defensive shot up the other end and you're out of your crease and get stumped, you're gone, it's the same up the non-strikers end to some degree, just wait in your holding bay until the ball is bowled if you don't want any chance of being a victim.

I agree but only if the non striker is trying to gain advantage.

Butler was just having a wander so ashwin should've warned him in my opinion.

Batsmen have been taking liberties at the non strikers end for a while, so I have no issues in using the mankad in the short versions of the game.
Butler wasn't intentionally gaining an advantage, he was just lazy and Ashwin was opportunistic.
This puts all batsmen on notice. It's not hard to watch the bowlers hand to see if he delivers the ball before you leave your crease.
I will laugh if someone mankads Kholi or Dhoni

I think one warning is generally appropriate, but no batsman with any brain cells should put themselves in the position to get mankadded.

International (even domestic) level - leave Mankad - they're paid professionals, cricket is their career of choice, they know the rules, they know the consequences.

Local level cricket - place a warning then have out if continues - we aren't professionals and most aren't paid and often it's the result of a brain fade while watching the striker face up.. it's a pathetic way to get a wicket.

So if you bowl someone are you going to call them back and give a warning? Not in a million years would you, so why on a mankad?

It’s a rule/law of cricket, if we like it or not. Don’t piss and moan when someone dismisses a batsman following the rules.

If you don’t agree with the rule don’t blame the players give a warning pffft you’ve gotta be f**king kidding me!
