Showers are forecast Saturday and Sunday which could play a role. It's imperative we are still batting at stumps.

I thought the same

I am more concerned with back foot touching the return crease. Seems to do it every ball

And the Mitch Marsh one as well!
Both should never play again for Australia at Test level.

Correct.... but there is no one else. Nothing. Zilch. Zippo. And thats our perennial problem. As it is Head and Harris are playing ahead of their time. Only Ussie is a Test batsman of note. And he isnt in great nick.

Even an out of form Renshaw has to be a better option than Finch.

At least Burns is in form and has a history of hitting long form runs as a opener

This is how I feel about Mitch Marsh, which is why I thought it was poor form crowd booing him the other day. I don’t agree with him in the side and I’m sure we have all posted about it, but booing him is poor form.

Annoyed me more reading comments on FB like “I paid money I’ll boo who ever I want”.

The Melbourne crowd has always given vent to their feelings more than other Australian crowds. Many years ago I was at the MCG for a test match and was sitting at the Richmond end. Keith Stackpole, a Victorian chased the ball from slip, fielded the ball and was roundly booed by the crowd. I asked how could they boo one of their own. The response was he is Collingwood, his old man also played footy at Collingwood, we don't like them anywhere near the Richmond end!!!

There are still better all-rounder options than Mitch Marsh, like Maxwell or Stoinis.

There is simply no justification for picking Mitch. He has neither the talent nor the form nor the runs/wickets on the board nor the potential, given his age.

Stoinis would be my pick but hes injured.
Maxwell wld not be able to provide enough overs without being carted and is less reliable than Marsh.

Heck, I'd even prefer Faulkner to Marsh. His batting is just as good.

Finch won't play again after Sydney.....Bancroft ends his suspension tomorrow and has the hit and giggle to get back into the swing of things, then the back end of the Shield season to get some red ball form with a Duke.....
