No real surprise the aussies batting has been poor. Smith and warner have saved you for the last 3 years, there is a real lack of depth in batting. However that is every team, take Kohli and pujara put of india they would be trash. Take root and stokes out of England were awful, saw that with just stokes missing.

It has made this series super interesting though so im all for it

A positive end to the day with Trav still at the crease, we have to be happy with his innings. Some really shit dismissals from our batsman that are very disappointing but it is nice to see ball dominating the bat in the first two days. Sharma and Ashwin bowling better and having more success than I thought they would (life has been made easier for Ashwin with us having four left handers in the top six) but it's Bumrah that I've been most impressed with. Bowled good, consistent pace with good lines with a bit of movement each way.

I don’t rate him as test player but the facts are he dominates SS and makes that many runs that selectors have to pick him.
It’s about time guys in the SS start making runs and putting pressure on him but as we have seen again today no one has really stepped up in the SS again

That's it Jim, other guys stepping up is long overdue and not happening like it should so Marsh keeps his spot.

For a bloke that has an ordinary run-up and stiff action, Bumrah sends them down at a pretty decent pace

I would happily stand corrected but I reckon he averages under 40 after over 10 years of Sheffield Shield cricket. That is far from dominating. Draw a line through the cu*** name and never pick him again.

This is a point I've made before. He's never dominated at Shield level. Average is actually a touch over 40, but hardly suggestive of being anything more than a moderately talented state player.

13 Shield centuries in 176 innings. 13! From 19 seasons! Yes, he makes runs at the right time, but no-one else with a record even remotely close to Marsh has been given so many chances (after repeated and inevitable failures in the baggy green).

I agree. With that sort of high, stiff arm action you tend to hit the pitch hard and get good bounce with deceptive pace. He reminds me a bit of England bowler (mainly only in limited overs cricket these days) Mark Wood .

His elbow goes beyond the point it should, it looks painful in slow-mo

Great effort from Head yesterday. Hopefully he can hang in there for a while today. Also hopefully the tail can hang around as well.

So many questions to be answered today.

Heads problem is after a good start he tends to struggle to restart his innings after a nights sleep. Looked good yesterday but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is out quickly this morning
