Keep Ferg.
Cooper, Smith done now i suspect
McInerney gets another year.
Lehmann has had a bad year but he has been consistent in previous years so i think he gets a pass on this one,
Davis looks good
Neilsen Stays
Weatherald needs to go back to his old ways
Dalton should open next year
Jake Winter is a strange one, he should have had more opportunity
Pope Stays
Andrews stays
Nick Winter, Dan Worrell, Chad Sayers all fine.
Zampa, head, Carey all Aussie players so stay
Mennie almost done
Richo i think is done as a 4 day player but i still rate him.
Valente shouldn't play 4 cricket next year

Pretty accurate summary!

Cricket.com.au Shield team of the year

Harris
Hughes
Pucovski
Patterson
Maddinson
Wade
Neser
Copeland
Boland
Bird
Holland

They selected Holland because he is a spinner over guys with plenty more wickets than him. Apart from that no issues.
Dave Warner will be missed!

Lol Neser must've been picked on his batting.

I think you should always reward the best spinner for the season.
I also think Doolan is the most obvious admission, third in the runs- 761 @ 38.05, probably didn't get selected because of his average and he only made the one century.
I can't see any allrounder that got close to Neser's 33 wickets @ 23.03 and 481 runs @43.72

Harsh, bowlers were okay.
Cooper the best SA batsman- 517 @ 34.46, 13th overall in the most runs for the season.
Mennie 37 wickets @19.59 was the best of the bowlers, 6th overall for the season.

Harris takes his 2018/19 Shield season to 1165 runs at 72.81 the 15th highest in Shield history, 38 runs in the second innings of the final will see him climb to 10th over all.

1,165 runs is impressive, although it should only be compared to other totals set since Tasmania were added.

I still think Burns, Renshaw and possibly others are more talented, but he's certainly let his bat do the talking.

Only Bill Ponsford in 7th spot from 1927/28 isn't from the modern era.

Great effort but I think most of the records now are devalued a bit due to the National players hardly ever playing SS anymore.
What is meant to be the show piece game is currently being played between a bunch of Second XI players.
