Victoria lead by 202 now, we'll on top.

I stopped watching when NSW were 3/83 and they lost 7/33!

Victoria currently 6/196, lead by 364. Slow going with a run rate of 2.64, obviously trying to bat NSW out of the game.

At least there is something in this deck. Over the years the Shiel final has seen some average pitches where the hope team bats for the draw.

I like the new bp rule, sure the second innings becomes a battle for the draw if you are infront after the first dig but it gives the away team a shot.

Looking at the first over this morning, this will be over today if the rain stays away.

Just saw on SACA news Smith. Opie and Cormack gone. Wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them ends up somewhere else for more opportunity (maybe Tas?)

Joke from Tim Nielsen - cut the blokes at the fringes after a winless season.. pathetic!

Limited opportunties for the 3 as it was.. i wanna see some actual ballsy decisions.

Bias view I know, but their treatment of Kelvin has been a disgrace. At 24 years of age he is coming up to the prime of his life as a batter, so they invest all this time into him and discard him now.

Think Tasmania are after him (and Jake Winter), so see what happens. How do they keep under achieving Patrick Page and Alex Ross who are just clogging up the list.

There is nobody in Grade Cricket who deserves a contract over Kelvin, so hopefully Heater is right and they have a few players coming from Interstate otherwise we will get a hat trick of wooden spoons!

I guess at the end of the day he has had 20 first class matches and scored 4 half-centuries averaging 20 and he'll have to cop that himself. However, I don't think the Redbacks have done him any favours.

He was given the last two games before the BBL break and then the last two games of the season this year. The only extended run he seemed to get was the first half of the season a few years ago when Weatherald came on to the scene. From memory, they did well as an opening partnership and Kelvin got a couple of 50's, but then was discarded when they came back after BBL.

I don't know why they persist with the likes of Cooper at 6. That spot should be used to bring in the likes of Smith and give them some experience instead of feeding them to the wolves at the top of the order.

I hope he gets a chance to continue his first class career somewhere else like Peter George did. He is a prolific scorer of centuries in all forms of cricket up to 2nd XI. I feel once he gets that break, he'll go on with it. His record at West Torrens' is incredible. Even if he's played his last game for the club at age 24 - he'd have to go down as one of the all time greats given he's been carving out centuries season upon season since he was 16. I hope it works out for him and he still has a hunger and enjoyment for the game.

Just read that Cameron White has not been offered a contract by the Vics.
Would he be the sort of player the SACA would go for? Not sure given that he is 35 he may be only good for 1 year (maybe 2 at a stretch), although invaluable for experience to help foster some young blokes through?
