Has done nothing since the 7 wicket haul and even Head bowled more overs in the 2nd innings this match

He is gone for next match, won't go to Hobart.

He is also a horrid fielder, and deadset bunny with the bat (as evidenced by his dismissals with his pair this game).

Batsmen have worked him out and not hard to play, very predictable.

Season almost over and it’s not even the end of November. Pretty depressing really.

Pope got games ahead of time. Had a taste. Pleased they stuck with him for four Shield games. He's seen some quality players up close, got exposed in some areas, will be better for it. You're not the finished product as an 18 year old, especially as a spinner. Hopefully this taste guides his next 12-18 months and he's a better bowler next time he gets his chance.

Imagine we'd go 4 quicks in Hobart. I don't really see Andrews or Cormack being anymore effective than Head. Imagine Zampa will be in the 12 though.

The batting is the real concern. How long do we stick with these same guys? We've poured the best part of a decade into Ferguson, Cooper. They make runs often enough to keep their spot, to remind you that they are a good player, but not often enough to help us win anything. Surely it's time for some tough calls. I admire that we've shown faith and were rewarded (sort of) with two Shield finals but this line up has taken us as far as it can.

Smith, Dalton, Davis... give them a chance.

We've won something like 2 of our last 15 shield games. Enough is enough.

On the back of the Bradman Medal last year and already 3 centuries in Grade Cricket this year averaging 134 - surely the time is now for Kelvin Smith. You can't knock the door down any more at the lower level and it is up to him to take his opportunity which the Redbacks must present to him while he is in form.

Drop Ferguson or Weatherald and they come straight back in replacing Head when he goes to International duties the match after.

Kelvin is currently 100 not out in Second X1 match too.

Never seen him bat better than he is currently, need to give him a chance while he is red hot, not wait till it is too late.

Zampa?

Not sure though - he might be in the CA touring squad for the innovative new "T5" format

Kelvin Smith can't have done anything more than he has

Need to reward consistent performances like that, otherwise where is the incentive to do well?

It's an absolute joke if Kelvin Smith doesn't play the next shield match. Drop Ferguson or Weatherald

Ferg doesn't get dropped, he is a class act and has missed out first few games.

Dalton comes in after xmas IF Weatherald hasnt made any.
