How weighted are the test votes?

Is it for 2018 or is it from medal date to medal date?

Lyon makes the most sense - he's probably the only one who consistently played consistenly performed over the whole year.

Does Cummins' summer get him across the line?

A cynic would suggest CA would like to have their poster boy win it, would be a wonderful marketing tool.

He was the other i considered, but has he played enough to win it?

Just looked, didn't realise Cummins played in SAF - was the leading wicket taker in the series with 22.. He's a big sniff i think.

Cummins to pip Lyno for me also. Played a couple of extra one days games than Lyon where he can snare votes.

Those two will be well clear IMO, with the batting being so poor & those two often making handy lower order contributions even only getting 2-3 wickets will see them get maximum votes in a lot of our loses which there were plenty.

S Marsh will win One Day player of the year also just to annoy everyone ;)

I've always liked Marsh in the shorter forms, think he's an exceptional limited overs batsman - shame he's never been able to replicate the same consistency in test cricket.

Cummins for me, been the most consistent for the year with bat and ball, his fielding aint to bad either.

Lyon a distant 2nd

Neither of them played many short games.

I fear that Flinch will win it as he played all 3 formats, he actually did ok in the shorter games last year when we were getting pumped.

Looking at the list of "State Player of the Year" winners recently, we're in a world of pain for awhile.

Chuck in that Alex Ross win the "Young Cricketer of the Year" award in 2016 doesn't paint a great picture for talent coming through.

Little wonder our ODI team has performed so crap when the ODI player of the year averages more with the ball then he does with the bat
