Meanwhile Warner's form of 18 runs @ 4.50 is exactly what the Aussies need..

I still prefer Burns (who scored a century in his last test) to both these guys.

Bit unlucky for Bancroft to be dropped though - at least he hung around a bit. I'm not sure if Harris has played much in England.

Ultimately, I think Renshaw has the best temperament to be a long-term test opener. Just needs to score runs in the Shield first.

While I like Bancroft and Harris, Renshaw should never have had to compete for his spot through early Sheffield Shield form in the first test two summers ago - after the G&D he showed in India when so many of our batsmen fail in the subcontinent, he should have been the incumbent for the first two tests of that Ashes series.

5 of 6 selected batsmen are lefties. Interesting.

Happy they made the change but not real happy it's Bancroft dropped instead of Warner.

Bancroft doing as well as he could in the second innings last week...just not technically sound enough.
Warner could turn it around at the drop of a hat. Lets hope he does so tonight.

Bloody hell Bedge, didn't you hear the Captains interview that Dave is ready to stand up and take the lead because Smith is out.

I expecting twin centuries from him., after all Langer said last test that Davey had that glint in his eye and he was due for a big one, and yeah that really happened

WTF is wrong with captains these days wanting to field 1st?
Australia batting 1st get 300 + they are home and hosed
England may still win but electing to field 1st is so negative and they deserve to lose

True but this is not Lords. On this deck Broad and Woakes could cut us up early. Forget about archer the big threat in these conditions is Broad and Woakes.

All I have heard is Archer this and Archer that. Look don't get me wrong as he is an exciting talent, but honestly Broad has been the pick of the bowlers for mine. He's a real danger on this deck.

Don't take your eye of those 2 or look out.
