Im sorry but youre far too easily pleased, The series should be over and it would be had anyone of the other 10 blokes been captain in the 3rd Test

Paine is like a cardboard cut out with anything that is more than a foot to his right. He's costing Australia Test Match Wins with his incompetent keeping, pathetic referrals and lack of attacking intent in the field as Captain.

Lets not forget after letting the catch go that the very next over from Cummins he referred one out of desperation because he couldn't handle the pressure that HE just put on the team. It wasn't even close. He is a liability, good blokes don't win Test matches but they can certainly lose them. He has already cost us one Test without question, if he loses the Ashes he should stay over there.

Your opinion mate. IMO lyon lost it. Couldnt bowl out the opposition in a 4th innings (again) and dropped a sitter for the runout. Seems to have escaped the attention of those with different agendas To me Lyons skill error was worse than Paines indiscretion.

Lets see how Lyon goes this time...if he performs as he shld we will win.

You aint listening... the reason I respect Paine is he was a major driver in changing us from a team that NO ONE liked.... that was abhored by opposition and Aussie fans to one that is now respected. There is no one else at that time who had the diplomacy and experience to handle the situation as he did.

You want to point blame? Try the opening bats (he has more runs than them) or the spinner who couldn't take a return for a runout.

I'm not sure that that's entirely true, but anyway, it doesn't seem to have been very effective in terms of winning matches.

northerner wrote:that was abhored by opposition and Aussie fans to one that is now respected.

I hardly think it's respected, just listen to the pommie crowds, mind you they're unlikely ever to be kind to an Australian team.

Ultimately, I'd like us to be respected for winning matches.

Again, I disagree, once the sandpaper trio were banned there was always going to be some sort of reaction to that in the way the team did things. All teams used illicit means to achieve reverse swing prior to March 2018 (not that excuses players wearing the baggy green), we just copped the heat for it.

I can accept that the team atmosphere under Lehmann was a little toxic (although they flogged England in the previous series), but any improvements have been down to a number of factors. And the idea that the prior team culture caused grown men to cheat is bollocks.

All Paine's really done is try to introduce tokenistic stuff like the hand-shaking thing, and speak in press conferences like he's giving an interview in Woman's Day.

Starc nicks off Stokes, huge wicket!
Archer almost run out first ball then the specialist number 8 plays a nice cover drive for 4. It's all happening.

I know and I usually like watching Buttler bat in ODI cricket but everytime an opposition has a specialist number 8 I have to mention it and keep calling them it.
