Has Tim Paine explained why he sent England in? Very poor decision.

In his press conference yesterday he said he thought there was enough in it to bowl them out and said they created enough chances but didn't back the bowlers up in the field.

I agree with that, certainly had their chances - a number of dropped catches and the missed reviews proved very costly.. could easily have been chasing sub 200 with 4 sessions to play instead of basically 400 in 3.

Geez Justin Langer is a smart cookie, just saw a presso where he comes up and says,

At the end of it all it was apparent that Broad got into Warners head.

I dont give a shit for any of his explanations, it was just plain WRONG - STUPID - REPREHENSIBLE - DUMB as DOGSHIT

Also as far as i know the game finished on Day 4 so Aust were chasing 400 in basically 6 sessions not 3 ;)

Reckon your pretty spot on. Had Warner have dropped the couple of beauties he took at first slip Paine would have got about 3 or 4 for keeping.

If Paine is genuinely our nations best keeping option than we are set for a extended period of being a 4-5 ranked test nation.

I reckon him and Warner varying the gap between each other made his keeping deteriorate.

They need to find what works and stick to it.

Yep agree. Surely any keeper worth their salt sorts that shit out and demands his first slip listens. Especially a 34 year old keeper who is captaining his nation. For professional cricketers that should be sorted in a couple of training sessions, not like their at the back of the net having a ciggy and beer whilst waiting to bat.

When Warner took them classic's they were 3.5m apart, when they both let the ball pass they were 2.5m apart, Warner's left handed and Paine right so the gap can be bigger.

So we kept selecting him and getting him to open the batting. Only a slight upgrade on Boof IMO.

Tim Paine broke his thumb (hasn't specified what side) during the fifth test and Peter Siddle also injured a hip flexor bowling on the first morning.

Siddle withdrawn from the BBL to concentrate on red ball cricket, cheers.

Honestly, if all of our bowlers are fit, is he in the best 4 or 5 on Aussie decks?

Not in my top 4 or 5 on Australian decks. If he is though then we are going to be an average side for a while.
