Puts todays cricket in perspective,
If one West Indian fast bowler can unsettle the best batsman in the world so easily imagine what you could do if you had four of them like the 70s and 80s

And we have the great Steve Waugh in the change rooms. Legendary bravery against hostile attacks.

I say declare now and have a 20 min crack before tea. Have a crack now and they could be 5-7 games at stumps and barely 150 in front

Pretty bloody ordinary from the soap dodgers to boo a bloke coming back from getting poleaxed.
Philip Hughes died with a very similar blow.
Spewing he got out the way he did.

That could be the series over, how does Smith handle the rest of the series? He looked a shadow of his former self after the hit on the arm.
Hopefully its just while the blows were fresh that he changed his batting but if he cant get over the mental hurdles of facing Archer for the rest of the series we are in seruious trouble

Bairstow cracks me up, surely there is a bout 18 better keepers in England than him. The most un natural keeper ive ever seen, he almost needs a back stop like u12 days

Facing Starc Cummins Pattinson in the nets would be more of a mental hurdle

Agreed, I'm not surprised though.

Id rather face them than Archer, Archer would be so hard to get used to with him just jogging in, no effort and wooshka 95mph thunderbolts. There is no rythym for the bastman to get into like you get with the traditional fast bolwer who is long run , top speed and all effort

Yeah Smudge looked to be in a bad way but some help and support from the rest of the top order would be nice!

If he was an aussie you guys would be frothing over him. He still bowls to short but hes 24 and has shown an ability to challenge the best player seen in a long time like no one else has so your god damn right we are excited by him. His talent is unquestionable.

You guys talk up Pattinson like hes a god and he averaged 55 in the first test.

His action is effortless and accurately bowls back of a length which looks to come though at a real awkward height for the batsman.

Without labouring the point S Waugh is just the guy to ensure Smith regains his mental toughness.
Smith was clearly not in his right mind when he returned. But I wouldnt be too pessimistic just yet.

To be fair only one bloke has said that. Archer will be something very special and dare I say it easily the best West Indian paceman since Ambrose. Such a shame he's not playing for the west Indians, would boost their cricket
