Haha well there you go, I was never convinced he'd be 100% ready to go. Nothing against Kane Richardson but I would love to know why Hazlewood has been overlooked, perhaps he was because of his injury?

Maybe they already got the playing gear with the name "Richardson" printed on them so just easier using Kane.. gotta be the only reason he'd get a call up.

Smith had an excellent hit out in the second warm up ODI against NZ today.

Meanwhile NZ comfortably chasing our 270 odd total against the friendliest bowling attack we could muster... Starc in his first game in 4 months (taken the only 2 wkts to fall, both bowled), Kane Richardson, Abbott, Neser and Lyon.

We now have two weaknesses in our squad... Richardson and Stoinis who has continued to underwhelm over the past 3 months.

So after the 3rd a final warm up against NZ our weaknesses are shining thru loud and clear...

Starc and Cummins are holding the faster bowling together. We have no one backing these guys up.

Stoinis is an absolute bust. His Bowling figures have NEVER been acceptable and now with his batting in an irreversible funk I doubt we can afford to play him. And we have no other all rounder option.

On the positive side... Smith and Maxwell are on fire.

Doesn't look like there's anyway Stoin can be in the starting/best 11 now.

Stoinis could be the Symonds of 2003. Going into that he was a bust and I couldn't believe we picked him. Hit a 100 in the first or second game from memory and became a mainstay for some time.

Have a similar 'please dont pick him' vibe with Stoinis.

Symonds innings featured in ESPN Cricinfo's WC Throwback on YouTube last week. Got a game because Darren Lehman was suspended and Michael Bevan was injured. Came in at 4/86 and made 143 off 125 balls.

Watched a fair bit of this, NCN looked out of his depth with the bat, ball and in the field.

Starc didn’t play due to tonsillitis

I do not rate him with the ball at the top level.

Think he may be handy with the bat on ovals with small boundaries.

Coulter-Nile looked horrible with bat and got spanked with ball. Also have doubts on Stoinis .... he is a horrible runner between the wickets. Overall we are looking pretty strong.

Carey
Cummins
Starc
