What an ultra impressive effort from the Aussies with a second consecutive against a potential Finals contender. Magnificent defence of an average score. Starc was sensational with several balls at 152 plus. Lyon and Behrendorf set the tone consolidating their roles.
With the bat it was Alex Carey and uzzie who saved our skins. Carey was the only bat on either side who seemed in control on a wkt that wasnt easy to bat on but uzzies innings was vital and showed that he is fine at 3 when that early wkt falls (although he could hv been out for zero).

Stoinis and Maxwell batting at 5 in 6 when early wkts have fallen is our vulnerability. Stoinis continues to fail to deliver in any manner but retains a gig due to team balance.

Never in doubt once we made 243. Was always going to be too much for their brittle batting lineup

Impressive win with such a moderate total

Starc's back to his best and getting some great support

Our middle order in batting however needs to be fixed somehow, he Big Show and Stoinis hopelessly out of form

No intent to accelerate his innings at all, I think he's incapable anyway, dare I say it at least S Marsh has another gear and can play the short ball without standing on the umpires toes. Oh and he still cant play spin.
Wtf bats 50 overs and doesn't make 100 these days?

F**k me dude, how harsh how you??!!
He just top scored with 88 and put on 107 for the 6th wicket with Carey to pull us out of the shit. Yeah he was slow but FFS at 5/92 he consolidated the innings and built a match winning partnership, what more do you want?!

And he batted for 45 overs, not 50.

de Grandhomme's dismissal is probably the worst I've have seen in the WC. Facing his FIRST BALL against a part timer in Smith tries to go big and hits it down long off's throat. They were still in the hunt at 5/118 and had just lost their 2 best players in the last 6 overs. Have a look ya d!ckhead!

Starc now has 24 wickets in this WC, two more than his overall tally of 22 in the 2015 WC. He needs three wickets to surpass McGrath tally of 26 in the 2007 WC.
Starc has now become the first bowler to take three 5 wicket hauls in World Cup history. He now has 46 wickets @12.97 with a SR of 18.0 in World Cup matches.

That sort of performance wont cut it against the curry munchers.
Did you watch his whole innings? Was actually as though he got worse as his innings went on.
Make no mistake this win was purely due to the class of Carey and Starc.
He absolutely shits himself to the short ball and cant play spin.
Well done to him for grafting it out but he was dropped on 0 and missed stumping later on.
He is a poor mans S.Marsh and ive been as big a critic of S Marsh as anyone

Maybe it won't cut it against the Indians, who knows at the moment, we'll see what happens there and then but it sure did cut it against NZ last night, being a crucial innings in the end. I didn't watch his whole innings but it was the sort of match where the conditions were in favour of the bowlers and he did a great job of grafting it out and making the most of his opportunity after NZ didn't take a couple of chances he gave them. He definitely wasn't our match winner but he did his job enough to put us in a position to be able to win the match.
