Billy Spermlake and Wes Agar may disagree, half the runs conceded from a third of the overs, Lucky Agar bounced back, collectively they were going at over 12 an over until Agars last.

Head also got out when a partnership was required.
Half the team to blame.

Yep, that’s the thing with a small salary cap, we have good top shelf players but plenty of passengers, T20 is such an individual effort game and we need our guns firing to win games.

I wouldn’t think Billy would cone cheaply so hopefully next season we free up some cap space and get a couple of middle tier players that do their bit.

Shows how underrated Ben Laughlin is/was

4th and 5th bowler has killed us this year

Signing a cooked White just mind boggling
Matt Short consistently getting a game while not doing anything

Lehmann didn't get a look in, only guy on the list that didn't get a game I think

Hope Siddle goes around again

Do we invite Salt back?

Salt failed when the pressure was on, no surprise there. 3rd rate county cricketers aren't up to it
I was wrong about Billy. not sure what has gone so wrong for him from 3 years ago.
They made a big mistake sending Rashid in early for a couple reasons. It was an easy ask that Neser or Short should've been able to achieve in company with Wells. It showed a complete lack of confidence in Short and Neser to get the job done. Also Rashid has problems with spinners, hits the quicks well, they were always going to bowl spin with him coming in earlier, if we hold him back no way they would've bowled spin when he eventually got to the crease in the 18th or 19th over

Agree with all that
I think its time we started looking after our cholesterol levels
Unfortunately the salary cap of the competition means guys like Short will continue to get games. No 6 in domestic T20 shouldn't be required, needs to be an allrounder especially when we have only 3 bowlers that can be relied upon. we need lots of bowling options, Valente I thought was just starting to find his feet when he was dropped. He could've contributed as much as Short with the bat but provided a late over bowling option

Spot on with all this also. Thunder basically go with four batters only. Reckon Valente was very harshly treated.

Agree I was surprised when Valente got dropped but even more surprised when he didnt get another look in. Much better to get some games into him over Agar, Stanlake & Conway IMO

Problem with signing Rash to a big deal and retaining him is you then need some bargain basement buys, that is what the Strikers will be wrestling with in the next few months.

Signing a cooked White just mind boggling I couldn't fathom it when it happened
Matt Short consistently getting a game while not doing anything Must be receiving vouchers as payment, Valente was a better option

Lehmann didn't get a look in, only guy on the list that didn't get a game I think Was worth a punt when Short was offering nothing

Hope Siddle goes around again I doubt whether we'd afford him next season, either Victorian side will dig deeper to keep him at home

Do we invite Salt back? For less money, we need a right handed opener IMO

I've seen a lot of people whinging about the all-star game being played as a curtain raiser to the BBL final meaning it will be in Sydney and not the MCG where it could potentially fit more people in it.

I agree to some degree, I think it should be a stand alone match as it will be hard to decipher who went for the final vs who went for the spectacle.

It would've attracted a lot more people at the G I think but the concept seem hardly like a cricket match from what I've read, it's going to be 10 overs per side, I'm certainly not going to complain about it and I'm sure they've done their homework but I would've thought they could extract more money being a lone game, the showdown one seemed to be a massive success even though it's a far smaller scale.

It's been reported that the Melbourne Renegades are after Siddle.

Stars not choking tonight (yet), made 2/194 with Stoinis and Larkin both making 83 and they have the Thunder 3/65 after 8 overs and needing 10.83 an over. With Chris Morris at 5 the Thunder batting line up is quite thin.
