Very good MAL.

We shouldn't be playing shield at this time of the year. Everyone needs to split up and play in the BBL so that we can have no replacements on form for the test side.

Rain in Hobart.

Unreal scenes at the MCG with umpires calling a halt to the Vic/WA game stating the pitch is unsafe for play.

Took a while though with 2 batsman hit the in the head and Stoinis hit numerous balls in a row off a good length before it was called off.

Curators working double time to try and fix the problem with an inspection due at 4.00pm

Game now totally abandoned.

Should be stripped of their Test match too, a first class ground prepares an unsafe pitch just days away from preparing for a Test is not a good look!

That's really odd.
Using shield boys as Guinea pigs for the test pitch prep, so as not to have a road?

Pretty unprofessional if that's the case.
If they're experimenting, surely you'd do that on a practice pitch...with a bowling machine to measure bounce and carry.

What is the points allocation from the VI V NS match ?
Should WA get maximum points ?
There was SS match a few years ago with a dodgy pitch, that was called off , and the away team got the points

Jim posted before that it is split points.

I think the away team should get full points. I think more so that the game should go to another venue.

We play shield cricket to produce test players. Not playing does not produce anything.

Agree
This is not fair for WA
WA have been denied a chance to get maximum points, through no fault of their own

The SS ladder b4 this round of matches
Each team after the first 5 rounds
NS 32.69
QL 24.78
WA 21.65
TA 14.15
SA 9.53
VI 9.47

The shared points between VI/WA may cost WA a chance to play in a SS final
The shared points might also get them into a final
I think WA would have liked a chance for max points
WA could afford to set a a 4th innings target as a VI win would be of little consequence
That target could have set on day 2 perhaps ....
