India has named their test squad for the Border-Gavaskar series-
Virat Kohli (capt), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj

The two most notable admissions to this initial squad are Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma due to injury.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id ... ralia-tour
Rohit Sharma has not been included in any of the three squads for India's tour of Australia after he picked a hamstring injury in the ongoing IPL. KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have returned to India's Test squad and uncapped fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has also been called-up for the four-match series in December-January.
Ishant Sharma's injury in the IPL meant he was not in the Test squad either, and the BCCI has said in a statement they will "continue to monitor the progress of Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma."

While Rohit picked up a hamstring injury last week and he is still in the UAE with the Mumbai Indians squad, Ishant was ruled out of the IPL much earlier with an abdominal muscle tear and he had returned to India. Ishant has been at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru since then.

There has been indications from Dan of the possibility of a 25-40k crowd with mandatory masks for all patrons

If Dan is smart, and the jury is out on that one, he will use things such as Boxing Day etc as a carrot to the Melbourne public. Do the right thing, play by the rules, keep cases in check, and we get those things back. If we stuff it up from here, then we loose the things we cherish.

I like how they're going to get all the mickey mouse stuff out of the way first before the Test series, they should do that every summer.

That echo was heard on radio coverage of Shield matches at the MCG back in the day.
