A tad optimistic but I hope so.

I agree, although it may be in front of an empty stadium and wouldn't that be eerie?

Surely not, imagine hearing the echo of a cover drive at an empty G.
That echo was heard on radio coverage of Shield matches at the MCG back in the day.

Yeah, kinda hard to soak it in for a test match though.

I remember seeing a doco at school when the commentator would bang a pencil on his desk to make the bat hitting the ball sound.

I agree though, totally pointless to play a test there without spectators when there are a great many other options to choose from - e.g. Perth (WACA trampoline anyone?), Canberra, even Hobart. Or you could have two in Adelaide which records the highest cricket attendances per capita each summer.

Back in the day when Bradman was making the poms look silly....

Descriptions of play relayed back to Australia in Morse Code and read out on air to give the impression it was live from the UK.

I think Perth shot themselves in the foot when Gowan was insisting on 14 days in lockup before playing.

About time Perth got bit in the arse for all their continual swipes at every other State by their premier. Bet it shits them over there that they spent all this money on a new stadium, but they still are number 5 in the pecking order as a preferred Test venue on the Australian calendar. In fairness, who are they going to take a Test off? Maybe the Gabba but Australia haven’t lost there since the 80’s so good luck taking over that any time soon...

Is it true that the shirt sponsor for the Australian cricket team is Dettol?

Dettol is the sponsor of the ODI and T20 series, CA signed a four year partnership with them in September.

Australia have named there ODI and T20 squad to face India.

Aaron Finch (c), Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins (vc), Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa

Cameron Green is the most notable inclusion, the hype surrounding him is coming too fruition. I didn't expect him to be included in the white ball squad but the selectors are obviously very keen to get him into the national set up.

Moises Henriques has also earnt a recall while Mitch Marsh has been sidelined with an ankle injury and Nathan Lyon, Josh Philippe, Riley Meredith and Andrew Tye have been omitted from the squad that faced England in September.

How can we hate him if he is going to carry on like this. At least we get to see him in Adelaide. Who captains them if Kholi not there?

Ajinkya Rahane is their vice captain so I'm assuming he will be the stand in skipper.

Understand why is leaving and fair enough.

From a spectacle point of view its a bit disappointing. You just know his absence will linger over any victory we have as part of the rebuttal.

I guess we were missing Smith and Warner last time these sides met.

A seventeen-man squad has been named for the first test against India:

Australia squad: David Warner, Will Pucovski, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Cameron Green, Tim Paine (capt.), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson, Michael Neser, Mitchell Swepson, Sean Abbott

If Neser or Abbott play a test for Australia, Bryce McGain and John Hastings may have some competition for most ordinary test player of all time.

A nineteen-man Australia A side has also been named ahead of two tour matches against India in Sydney:

Australia A: Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Joe Burns, Jackson Bird, Alex Carey, Harry Conway, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Nic Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh (subject to fitness), Michael Neser, Tim Paine, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Mark Steketee, Will Sutherland, Mitchell Swepson
