Didn't help him with that drop though, hard to defend him there but like Cameron Green he's not going anywhere at the moment.

Not quite the gloves being worn by Carey were only worn by Healy between 1993-97 (bookended by the two England tours)

1997-98 to end of his career, same gloves but had yellow palm rubber... (I still have my version of these gloves they are the ones I wore when 'keeping to Warney ;) )

Prior to 1993 Healy wore the Rod Marsh Gold 100s...

If you're going to talk Kookaburra Keeping gloves - Facts boys, facts....

Well sorry, I didn't realise I was talking to Wicket keeping royalty. ;) You were obviously a handy keeper if you kept to Shane Warne ;)

The gloves Carey is wearing are actually part of a promotion.

Only you would have even noticed that, your cricket knowledge is outstanding

Thanks mate! As soon as I saw them I had the picture in my head of Ian Healy wearing the exact same coloured gloves when he was playing for Aus back in the 90s. I went on the Kookaburra website and saw that they are a part of the Ashes tribute/promotion that Kookaburra have been doing.

Shane Warne

Yes he was a freak ambays

Heres a bit more Mal and celebrity
Rod Marsh once told me in person
It was the days of the Cricket Academy in Adelaide
He had this to say when I asked him about whether there was a talent at the academy
" Yes a lad called Shane Warne , he bowls the ball and before the batsman plays you can here the ball fizzing in the air."
He went on to say even back then, that he would would be a star for Australia

Another celebrity Ive had many discussions with was Sir Rodney Hogg
He once did a news article and stated Warne would take 500 wickets in test cricket [ i reckon it was 500 but it wuz heeps]
He posted that before he even played for Australia

Another celebrity Ive never met , whufc
Said that Steve Smith is the Blonde Don

Something wrong with those stats.

Averaging 21.75 against spin with 20 dismissals = 435 runs
Averaging 24.8 against pace with 30 dismissals = 744 runs
A total of 1179 runs.

With 50 dismissals combined, and a career average of 25.2 = 1260 runs.

So either he's made 81 runs against bowling other than spin or pace, or the stats aren't quite right.

I can't find the total amount of runs Marsh has scored against both spin and pace on ESPN Cricinfo for them to get those averages, they don't seem to display it.

You crunch the numbers and analyse better than anyone on here Trade, could you find what they've done with those 81 runs? Maybe Marsh has faced bowlers that Cricinfo hadn't classified as pace or spin?

Had a quick look, seems they do class some bowlers as mixture/unknown.
Guys like McCullum, Alistair Cook, Hashem Amla etc seem to land in this box.

Guys - Carey played footy for Glenelg and is a wicketkeeper of quality (whether long term test quality remains to be seen) so he is in the absolute sweet spot for being idolised by AM Bays. I will add that I've Captained cricket teams with AM Bays as my keeper and whilst he was never the athletic beast he desperately wanted to be, he was a better than average keeper who worked hard on his craft. And quality shits and giggles in the cordon for good measure.

So an international umpire doesn’t know the rules of cricket.

Agreed, he should cop plenty over this.

I think there just so conditioned to give out on the noise he just gave it.

Same as why the aussies appealed they heard the noise and instinct was to go up.

Appealing when you know it’s not out is cheating!
Why would they appeal when it clearly missed the pad and clipped the stump?

I assume he gave it oUt LBW. Would have seen the big deflection and the bat raised and assumed it could only deflected off his pad. Thank goodness we have DRS.

Pat Cummins.... since winning the toss and bowling melbourne, where he picked up 3 early wickets bowling on a favourable deck, Pat hasn't taken a wicket since. The aussies have picked up 21, but the skipper has none of them. 0/67 off his last 29 overs.

Lucky the barrel is there to pick up the slack!
