dumb batting BUT he doubled uzzy so he wins.

I get he wants to be positive to the spin but its a raging turner and the fact Kuhnemann is turning it tells you that you need to be smarter.

Today’s showcases why neither Ussie or Trav shouldnt be near the test side

Both had a chance to show their metal and both produced the exact performance and shots that have got them out of the team.

Carey can’t buy a run.
Very real chance that he is overlooked for a test spot

Cant argue with this

Same argument can be applied to Alex today.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If I'm captain.

Batting to 100 overs would roughly put them on 250. If we are still only 2-4 down I'm then batting the next 10 overs as a T20 and looking to get to 300 or slightly more. That should then send the Backs in before tea for a real crack at them.

300 first innings give us the chance to be able to win this game without taking risk if we bowl well eg bowl them out for 150-200. If we get to 250 that's fine but we are most likely going to have to give a sporting third innings declaration to win the game.

Pretty much how the captain wanted it to lol

Umpires havent taken any notice of the back foot no ball rule for donkey's years so why start now ?

I remember back in the day when Carl Rackemann was bowling, he veered out very wide when bowling and often cut the line with his backfoot but was never called.

Just seems to be one of those rules that nobody seems to give a toss about, umpires included.

Having said that, has there been a change in recent years that only the 1st point of contact of the back foot with the pitch needs to be inside the return crease and doesn't matter there after if it touches or cuts the line ?

I dont think anybody has any answers on where SA cricket goes from here to be competitive again let alone winning games ?
