Will be interesting to see how this goes over the whole tournament, especially when it comes to the finals series.
I was listening to the Wisden Cricket podcast this afternoon and the guys on it were talking about the huge impact of the toss during the recent World Cup in the UAE and if the toss and the bowl first tactic will be as bigger factor in next year's tournament in Aus. You'd think the Aussies (and maybe other countries) will look at BBL trends when planning for the tournament.

208 by the Heat was always going to be too many for the Strikers with the way they're going, Weatherald is struggling to make runs as is Nielsen, Short and Renshaw have got starts but haven't capitalised enough, Wells is consistent but not a guy who's going to clear the boundary consistently and Kelly is obviously just starting is career.

The bowlers were ok but Garton doesn't seem like a great recruit at the moment, just bowled too short tonight for some stupid reason so Duckett and Heazlett took full advantage and dispatched him with ease.

I was becoming genuinely angry at some of the bowling, Garton was horrid, half trackers, doesn't appear to have many tricks with the ball, I would much rather a local guy get a go, give Spencer Johnson a game. Siddle looks cooked, not sure making him captain was a great idea, Wells would have been a better choice, the over from Short that went for 20 changed the game completely. Ahmed has been good, handy pickup.

That innings from Duckett is one of the worst I have ever seen, had to be half a dozen skied balls that didn't go to a fielder.

With zero power hitters I didn't think we had any chance chasing 209, was proved correct pretty early on. Renshaw is not a t20 bat, even though he slayed the Redbacks in ODD match a few weeks ago, I would move him on at the end of the season. Wells and Short have done a lot more than I thought they would..WOW I just looked up Short and he is only 26, thought he was 36 lol. Weatherald in terrible form, I'd give him a go at 3. Kelly while not monstering them is showing promise so he stays for sure. As for Nielsen, he would not be in my side, how funny was he on the mic "I hope to come out when they need 20 of the last two overs"...yeah that is really ideal.

Next match XI

Hunt (have to give him a go)
Short (don't like it, but no one else)
Weatherald
Wells (c)
Kelly
Garton (last chance)
Worrall
Khan
Nielsen (I would dead set ask England about Johnny Bairstow if he doesn't get a game Boxing Day)
Johnson
Ahmed

Reserves - O'Connor / Scott

Siddle takes a rest
Renshaw dropped
Dave Warner will be missed!

Worrall was dropped for Agar yet Garton remained in the team, they obviously rate him. I'd love to see Johnson given a go.

The Strikers have managed to put a decent score on the board making 175.
Short's first over was pretty good and should of had Wade LBW.
Now Garton bowls the second over, has bowled short again and McDermott pumped him for four and six but he managed to pick up Wade with another half tracker lol.

Add Garton to that list. How many half trackers can he bowl

If he has been included in the England 20/20 squad next month they obviously have not been watching the Big Bash

Looks like tonight's game going ahead with Sydney players under some random restrictions. Such as not being able to celebrate together after a wicket

what a joke, have no issues with the game being played guess they cant have more than 10 gathering together to celebrate a wicket, wonder after each over if you can go down for the glove slap
