Fair enough I think regardless who he is.

Smith played in the BBL final two years ago.

Could be wrong but it wasn't anything to do with a period of time was more just the fact Sydney Sixers didn't register him this year as they didn't believe they would get any games out of him. Obviously they choose to free up the salary cap space he would have been taken up.

He simply didn't have sixers contract for the 2021/22 season.

It was a dumb call not to let Smith play

The whole tournament has been about flexibility. Changing the program, changing the venues, morning matches, bringing in extra players from outside your squad. Anything to get a game on. The show must go on.

Now an international tour gets cancelled... but no flexibility. Rules are rules. Rules that were made two weeks ago that is.

Did Candice apply to get Davey a game?

There is a prefect opportunity now with Hughes injured to let Smith play.

Who would the kids rather watch Smith or some spanker from Sydney 1st grade cricket?

BBL is CA's cash cow, at the ery least an important revenue stream that ups it's TV rights $$$.

Let Smith play
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Might have added him to the Aussie 20/20 team bit prematurely

This is one of the worse batting line ups the Sixers have had for years, just try and get to 130 plus and probably be enough.

Yes perhaps he was, I was a little bit surprised to see him selected in the squad to play Sri Lanka given he just hasn't played much T20 cricket for the Strikers (and in general) over the last 4 seasons, plus I read he hasn't played white ball cricket for Australia since 2018.

Head's matches for the Strikers-
21/22- 2 matches
20/21- 4
19/20- 7
18/19- 3
17/18- 9
16/17- 5
15/16- 9

George Bailey said that after been in great form during the Ashes the selectors are keen to get him involved in as much white ball cricket as possible after not having the time to focus on it of late. He noted Heads 'phenomenonal one day domestic record over the past couple of years'.
