His Dad signed him to three year deal too, would imagine he will be on the list next season and not playing a game. If he doesn’t try and sign De Kock or another decent keeper/batsmen with Carey unavailable it is a deadset joke, almost criminal. How SACA let him have so much power when his son is involved is ridiculous

That was the worst innings I’ve ever seen in BBL cricket.

The perfect exit to top it off too.

Let’s be honest the whole strikers side is rubbish other than Rashid.

Unfortunately Eags as we all know the whole place is rotten. When you have a SACA president and board only worried about how deep they can get their snouts in the trough and not do anything to make meaningful changes to the whole set up we'll keep discussing the same things over and over. Absolute joke of an organisation which basically needs a complete clean out from top to bottom and in between, not just the Strikers.

Do players get paid per game or just per their contract?

You'd assume that our 3 highest players would be Rashid, Head and Carey, when two of them aren't playing it leaves some massive holes to fill from players that would be on a pittance.

I don't mind us bottoming out a bit to get some games into some kids but we seriously need to have an end game with our squad, recruiting blokes like Conway is just a complete WTF, he just loafs in and bowls the ball, he doesn't even know where it's going, his last ball last night was just simply the dumbest ball of the tournament when it was arguably the most important ball of the evening, a dot or a 1 there changes the whole night, a half volley down leg was just comical, I'm surprised they didn't have to fish it out of the Yarra.

Although Siddle's no-ball was debatable, with his experience he should not of even got that close to being a waist high full toss.

Do we know why Renshaw didn't play?

Why isn't Weatherald opening?

Going in with only 4 recognised bowlers and Short was dangerous and proved costly, I don't know what they were expecting from Gibson?

One positive I've taken from this season is Matt Short, I've always been critical of him but I think he's been in our top 3 players this season.

I'm not sure what you mean here, our ODD and shield teams are doing well, both sitting 5th. (two more games played than the bottom side though).

Covid.

Oh, and as for the siddle no ball, it was close, but seemed very similar to the delivery Kelly got out on, why wasn't that one reviewed as well?

Did Wells take the catch though?
They missed with the free hit so no damage done anyway

You are right though Rash would be the highest paid player in the comp, add in Carey (4 year deal) and Head and there isn't much left over, so often in all sport its your bottom 20% that make the difference in the W/L column.

What staggers me about the BBL is the plodders that get games over brining thru a few untried kids, the Heat showed the other night that there is young talent out there looking for opportunity and they didn't look out of place at all.

There should be a rule that each X1 needs a min of 2 players under 23

The standard has been ridiculously poor even before every **** got the bug. And this is what we sacrificed the shield for? **** off.
