Yeah, heard that too, but they also said the next two days were meant to be warm and how dry the pitch, so was expecting a couple of big first innings by both teams. Probably academic now, the Test won't go that far.

Rain forecast on days 3 & 5 could change things.

Hopefully if it interferes, it ruins the Test properly

Just watched some of Marsh's innings

FMD, 150 km/h rocks and he's putting them in the Western Tce for horns. That's a fair innings.

I like Johnny B as a batter but crikey, he couldn't catch a cold after three days hiking in his birthday suit on the Yorkshire Moors in the middle of winter....

It's most likely (not guaranteed) that we are going to retain the ASHES. if we do its going to be at the right time Australian players stood up, and won the key moments:
Khawaja in the first test
Cummins in the first test when were 8 down
Head at Lords
Smith at Lords
Carey with his Catches
Now Marsh at Leeds

As for Mitchell Marsh, incredible innings, as alluded by AmBays
He now joins 3 of my favourite cricketers in the fastest 100s in a Test Match in England by an Australian

92 balls Victor Trumper, a man who owned a sports store and gave away lotsa profits to kids[1902]
102 balls Mitchell Marsh [2023]
105 balls Clem Hill , who has played football for South Adelaide and was a handicapper at the races [1902]
106 balls Travis Head, which was against India in the World Championship

2 South Australians in those 4 achievements

There are 2 exceptions that I know of
Cliff Young who won the Syndey to Melbourne marathon foot race in 1983, aged 61
And myself who won the trophy for most wickets in my last fool season of cricket, aged 46

Well batted Mitch Marsh, seems like a cracking lad so was really to nice to see even as an opposing supporter.

My word though if we could stop talking dribble about how we want to play our cricket to entertain the people and just get the basic rights that would be delightful. You know what would entertain me you blokes holding onto a bloody catch, can't win matches dropping this many chances.

A mate of mine took 55 wickets at 55 years of age. Wiley old leggie. Outstanding effort.
