Starting at 7pm weather permitting?

reckon if they look like getting most of today in, Eng will probably try and go around 5 an over in the 1st session and then up the anti after that, unless of course we get a few wickets early

Root holds a key here as he can sit back and bat normally whilst the others take the risk

If anything to go by if they get there Stokes will set the Aussies around 325-350 to get in 3.5 sessions

Lets hope the rain stays away

My understanding is hopefully a full day today, and don't hold your breath for tomorrow. Reckon England might come out swinging. I hope they do as we may be swinging the Duke.

On the Wisden daily podcast I listened to this morning they said play will start 15 mins earlier (7.15pm here) and finish an extra half an hour later (so essentially an extra hour with the extra half hour they always use anyway).

No mention of a start time on Cricinfo commentary yet.

Normal start time. First 2 sessions will be extended by 15 minutes to make up the half hour

Ah fair enough, just read today's schedule.
I still would like to know why play can't start at 10.30am local time all the time like Australia and India did in the WTC Final.

Cricket times are so stupid, surely you start at least half hour early this morning and play an extra hour tonight, its light until 9.30pm over there atm!

I can't recall them ever starting early in England. They only ever whack overs on at the end.

League cricket over there if a 40 over a side match doesn't start until 2pm!

Still, I've heard of a league over there having 53 overs for the side batting first and the 2nd side has 47 overs to chase it! Poms are weird

It was always going to be on. If the lost say 2 early wickets then we might have seen something different

It’s half smart, he was targeting where there were no fielders. Although no comparison but I loved facing the first ball of an innings especially against good pace, I targeted the backward point region from ball one and quite often cleared to boundary using the pace, most of the time the loosener was outside off and mis-hits would land safe because I swung hard. I’d get to near 30 by the time they done anything about it.

How's the massive knob on the end of the Pommy bats?

The handles are really weird too.
