Hmm Smith and the selectors have some thinking to do over the next nine months.

I just want these two here at stumps….

No real thinking to be done, pretty easy decision really ;)

I'm not sure why anyone would've thought that Smith would succeed as an opener.

I sense a retirement is imminent.

We seem to take the pressure off once we’ve secure the trophy, we’re shot now with this one.

fragile excuse, if it wasnt for our bowlers last few tests we would have been hammered

With the exception of Green, the whole batting group one thru 7 is in their worst batting form of their collective careers.
This loss proves the Windies loss was not just a one off blimp. Guys who are decent quicks at best are looking like world champions.

When so many are out of touch, it becomes a coaching issue, in particular the batting coach.

Whilst I agree with both of you this also shows how hard it is to win away from home consistently if at all for all test nations.

Matt Henry has been outstanding in this series, deserves to be player of the series if NZ win this.

Hope our batsmen are watching and learning. This is how you bat not the poor man’s Baz ball you e been playing lately!

The top 4 dont play poor mans baz ball
So no need for them to be watching and learning
Khawaja
Smith
Lab
Green

You need to be more specific on the way Head and Marsh bat

AU 4/34
4 Defensive shots played by the 4 most sedate batsman in the top 6

NZ have only won 2 test series at home in the last 5 test series they have played there since 2021-2022, against Sri Lanka and a C Grade Sth African side

Why is the score 34-4 but Sears has 2-3, make up your mind

As a young batsmen would you sense there's an opportunity to push for a test spot or is there a loss of faith in Australia selectors to reward performance. I feel as others there's potential opportunities to stake a claim in the batting and keeping department.

Player power in control too much? Surely an external voice, not the coach. I lack belief he can be that dissenting voice players need from time to time.
