Are we considering keepers as all rounders...? Can we only have one of them....if so.

1. Watson
2. Jayasuriya (98 wickets at 34) plus i struggled for another opener.
3. Kallis
4. Sobers
5. Miller
6. Botham
7. Gilchrist
8. Imran Khan
9. Kapil Dev
10. Wasim Akram
11. Hadlee

Yes, I consider a keeper batter as an allrounder

I meant an “all-rounder” XI.

Pretty happy with your list though, I’d probably go Sangakarra and Akram for Gordon & Waqar but there is no wrong or right opinions

Yeah I started that post just before you posted.
I tossed up Waqar, Wasim and Hadlee.
Sangakarra’s stats are as good as any but I didn’t think he was as good as they show though.

Then Sangakarra can play instead of Jayaysuriya.

As great as your team is I could probably only judge on players that I’ve seen play, if mal selected your list then it’s warranted ;) .

Using my criteria I would change Sobers and Miller for possibly the Waugh twins, one would just about rate Warne as an allrounder, I think he’s a far better bat than his average suggest, he would’ve gone in at 7/400+ many times and just gone the tonk as he batted in junk time

What about Flintoff?
I’d have him before Stokes
Shaun Pollock has to be in there

I do think a lot of people do forget that before his back problems, Steve Waugh was a pretty decent bowler

Reckon we would be about the same age looking at that list.

For sentimental value can't go past the middle order of Ponting, Lara, Tendulkar............but its hard to ignore what Smith and Kohli have done in recent years.....they have to be seriously considered.

Good team.
Tugga Waugh is an interesting one.
I’d have Border, Viv Richard’s, Smith, Chappell before him

Mine from 1978-79 onwards:

Gavaskar - played with Australia at Adelaide in 85-86 (1st test I ever watched live) and he opened against those West Indies teams ad nauseum - first to 10 000
Cook- just shades Hayden
Ponting
Lara
Tendulkar
Border - made runs everywhere and against the those West Indies teams 2nd to 10 000 and more often than not came in at 2-3 for F*** All
Gilchrist
Warne
Marshall
Lillee
McGrath

Ambrose 12th

Great call on Border.

Cant have the discussion of the 4 pace West Indian attack being one of the greatest of all time and then not have Border in amongst your batters.

Assuming on precedence that ‘Bison-ball’ will be included in the English dictionary soon?
