After a poor showing in there first tour game England looks like not being able to be competative with the might of the Australian team. The bowling looks very weak, Matthew Hoggard and Liam Plunkett havent played a game for over two months, Harminson's form in the ICC Champions trophy was ordinary at best. Mahmmod is a promising prospest, struggled in tour opener, does bowl at good pace, could be handy on the gabba's deck but is a risk England wont take. Anderson coming back from injury dosnt look like a test player at this stage. Giles isnt fit, will come under consideration for 1st test as Fletcher is a defensive coach and likes Giles coming in at 8 and making a few runs, as Panasar cant bat or field. Flintoff looked ok in PM eleven game, needs to have good work out in next couple of tour games, his batting at this stage is more of a concern, needs some good time in the middle. Who will keep, Read the better keeper Jones the better bat. I feel they will go with Jones and hope he has a good series with the gloves and can chip in with some handy runs. Read's batting in the ICC looked very poor. Strauss, Bell, Pieterson hold the key in the batting department. Pieterson needs to put away the pull shot untill he is set. They will target him with the short ball. Cant see Trescothick making runs didn,t last time he was here. Cook promising player should open. Made a good hundread against the aussies in a tour game in 2005. Bell muched improved player who scores at a good rate. Collingwood will be handy in the middle order full of grit. Fell they brought one extra bowler and one are one batsman short.
