ASHES to ASHES

Postby Adelaide Hawk » Tue Nov 21, 2006 10:25 pm

What a boring old show this is. I've watched 45 minutes and nothing has happened yet except weak jokes and the crowd yelling out like idiots. I hope the Ashes series is more interesting than this dribble. Thank goodness I taped the Tied Test on Channel 2 to watch later.

Its the way ch 9 is going under Sir Eddie these days unfotunately, cheap panel/chat/info type shows (20 to 1, Clever, Big Questions, ABBA special etc etc). Nothing beats a quality cricket documentary on ch 2 compared to the crap that ch 9 put on like this latest Ashes crap.

I think that is my issue. I like to think about my sport and these shows just leave me cold that are all tinselled and hyped up to camouflage the fact that nothing is actually happening. Give me a good old fashioned documentary any day. They had to bring in a band every now and then to appease people who lack the ability to concentrate for more than 30 xeconds.

What do you expect from those knob jockeys?

Postby Rik E Boy » Wed Nov 22, 2006 9:33 am

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust if Eddie don't annoy then in JB you trust. Channel nine tossers. I briefly had a glimpse of part of it after I had a watched a full two hour highlights package of the first test at Edgbaston when Gilly smashed the Poms in 2001. You'd watch Cricket over a 'footy show' knock off any day of the week. I've said it before and I'll say it again..I love my Foxtel...

Blues vs. Warriors tonight!

Just like the world cup footy show "special" - a load of self-indulgent pap.

Although at least they used cricketers rather than former players of a different sport to host this one.

Mate, only the depth varies. Mrs REB knows better than to tell me to turn off the cricket or footy. She's happy watching her *shudder* reality TV on the other box when I am watching real television.

Anyone else watch the Ch2 show last night showing all the highlights from the tied Test in Madras in '86? I did, great show,Dean Jones and Greg Mathews= loose cannons and two of the biggest efforts shown on a cricket field by those two on that occasion.

LOL CP,the question that comes from this is,do you have any idea what the barney was about? More often than not,I have less than a clue as to the origin of the duel.

The only part you are getting wrong is that you think you might work it out mate. Don't bother, the real reason behind the fight was something that someone else did about 5 years before you even met her.
