I am absolutley EXPLODING with excitement for the first test and cant wait to get down to the pub after work wed night to sit back with a nice cold one, paley ofcourse, and settle in to watch what is arguably the most anticipated of all ashes contests.

Anyone else feel the same??

can Lee take the ball by the horns and take 40+ wickets and become the star is should be??

can warne and mcgrath return to the glory years??

will the aussies make enough runs??

can freddy fire up?

will harmison keep it all together long enough?

can strauss and peterson carry the batting load for the poms??

I CANT WAIT!!!!! its going to be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  :P  :!: :!: :!:  :o

I agree. I've had enough of the build up, now its here. Time for the bat and ball to do the talking instead.

Yep, let play begin. This is the first time I remember Australia needing to win the series on home soil to regain the Ashes and I'm sure is the same for many people born around the time Botham became legend in Ashes history. There's nothing like the first session of a series. So many questions to be answered. I can't wait!

First series I remember is 74-75. Last year was bad but 1981 was ten times worse.
