Catches win matches

To have any chance in this series England must hold their catches. In particular if the bowler finds the edge the slips must support them. Give the Aussie batsmen a life and they will make you pay.

I remember Jacques Kallis dropping Ponting in Melbourne last year...it cost South Africa 100 odd runs and was a major game (if not series) turner.

Both Australia & England only have to look at probably the two most crucial dropped catches in history, to see how important taking simple catches can be:

1. Herschelle Gibbs - dropped a catch off of Steve Waugh, who then went on to guide Australia to victory and a place in the 1999 World Cup Final @ Lords, which they went on to win.

2. Shane Warne - spilt a catch he would have caught 99/100 times off of Kevin Pietersen, who went on to make 158 for England who drew the match and stole the Ashes.

Catches... they are the reason Australia will win the series 3 - 1. Jones couldn't catch a cold when compared with Gilly. Our slips corden is better as well... Not to mention our bowlers will give the slips more to actually catch.
