Postby legend » Sun Dec 24, 2006 5:50 am

With the 2007 World Cup Australias next challenge, let us help the selectors name the 14 man squad to defend our title. So what is your 14 man squad for the W.I?

TASSIE leave a 21 post veteran alone.
LEGEND welcome to the sight.

We have had a few discussions recently but can update on this thread.
Before we go to the 2007 World Cup a precurser will be the triangle series
which involves AU/EG/NZ which begins on 9/1/07.
WATSON/MARTYN have retired
MCGRATH is he playing this series ?

I would replace WATSON with HOPES and MARTYN with WHITE in theory in a squad.
If JAQUES or NORTH or HADDIN were selected, I would have no probs with that.
If PIDGE is not playing I would consider HILFENHAUS in the squad

MY TEAM FOR THE TRI SERIES
------------------------------------

GILchrist
JAQUES
PONTING
SYMONDS
CLARK
HUSSEY
HOGG
HOPES
LEE
BRACKEN
MCGRATH

Others in squad of 14

WHITE
HILFENHAUS
HADDIN

Just missed

NORTH
VOGES

Longshots

D HUSSEY
NOFFKE
BIRT
COSGROVE

I have left HOGG in the team as he has been an exceptional player since WARNE
retired from o/d cricket.
I would love to have WHITE in the first X1 but at 23 he has time on his side.

WATSONs injury has opened the door for HOPES as an allrounder
and JAQUES as the opener.

Cheers LEGEND its not the 2007 w/cup squad, but we gotta keep TASSIE happy.
