The WGLS today reached the 700 wicket milestone with another
brilliant 5 wicket haul.
Much media focus has been made of the malgical 700.

MAL-check has found a stat that the press has not mentioned as yet[have not heard of it]

The malgical 1,000 international wickets.

TEST WICKETS...704
O/D WICKETS....293
TOTAL................997

Yes only 3 wickets for that milestone.
WGLS has bowled 51,061 balls in both forms of the game for those 997 wickets.
What a champion.

3 more wickets shall we alert the press :!:

The historical society that Bill Frindall heads up only acknowledges Warne as taking 698 wickets. They refuse to accredit the 6 wickets he took against the World XI in 2005-06 as a legitimate Test Match. Now if we could just get them to discredit all of Murali's wickets because they refuse to accredit Murali as a legitimate bowler :)

And they should not count as it was a bullshit test series.
I agree with 698 wickets.

Warne is the best spinner ever
Murali is the best chucker ever

As Tassie Medallist said, he is the guy known as the bearded wonder. If you listen to the radio commentaries from England, he is the guy who does the scoring and provides all the statistics.

He developed what is known as the "Frindall Method" of scoring, a system adopted by most 1st class scorers today.

He is widely regarded as the guru of cricket historians. I have e-mailed him a number of times, very approachable, and very informative.
