I haven't watch a Pom net session since the early 80s when Chris Tavare was playing. If I recall correctly, it was the day after he had batted for 80 minutes and scored 2 runs. I weatched for 15 minutes while Tavare went back to every delivery he faced and dropped in on the pitch in front of his with a dead bat. Not one attacking stroke in 15 minutes, it was too much for me to handle.

Went to Adelaide oval to see the net sessions.
Yes the poms are aware that STRAUSS when caught freakishly by Hodge off Mcgrath
was a actually not out, he did bowl a NO BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
Thats the 5th time STRAUSS has been ripped off.
I wont repeat what the EG players think of that.

Can anyone guess which EG player was a defacto coach, giving lessons, talking NON STOP
conducting batting drills, encouraging, advising and talking NON STOP :?: :?: :?: :?:

I was privilleged to watch Sir Michael HUSSEY have a net.
And was impressed by an SA net bowler who ruffed up Sir Michael
Sir Michael asked if he had a SA contract, the lad said he did last year.
Hes about 6 foot 2 very thin and very quick.

Well I might be nearly a half a century old but I got to bowl to a truly great
left hand batsman, MT79
Then I bowled to the great one, the BAYMAN after, as we had a net at the Adelaide
Lutheran nets in the city afterwards !!!
Both looked OK but I did mesmerise them, M79 looked good but could not pick

Dunno
Sir Michael chatted him a few times and was most impressed.
The same lad had Botheras[EG batsman] jumping around.
Botheras turned around and told BAYMAN he was a very quick bowler.
He did have a SA contract last year and not now
Maybe AH or ECKY might know.

ROD have you guessed who the Big talking defacto coach was :?:

yeah he couldn't pick whether it was going to be on the pitch or hitting the side fence  , plus you were obviously impressed with one of the english bowlers we saw earlier in the day as you emulated him a few times by giving the ball air & landing it on the roof of the net & they tell kids to watch & copy the professionals

I WON MY ONE AND ONLY BOWLING TROPHY IN MY LAST YEAR
BOWLING OFF BREAKS, ARM BALLS AND MALSRAS MR BAYMAN.
All I tried to do today for a challenge was trying to hit the middle of
your bat to see how good I was

Not sure who the defacto coach was mal. The "talking non stop" comment suggests Nixon.

Mal - I saw this same bloke bowl in the nets the day before the tes tmatch last year and mentioed it here as well, I reckon he is taller than 6'2 but nice pace and still young...huge potential, he was wearing Redback gear so maybe in a junior state side...one of the spectators asked his name and he said it but I didnt catch it...He ruffled up Langer and Martyn (ironically his last net session)

Some of the grade cricket follows on here surely might have an idea?

It may be Peter George you're talking about. He was rookie listed last year. Has plenty of potential and is having a good season leading the bowling for West Torrens. He'd only be 19 or 20. Is way taller than 6'2!
