Ripped off - Australian cricketers don't get awards

Unlike their English counterparts, Australia's cricketers did not receive national awards in the honours.

No current Australian cricketer received an Order of Australia Medal for gaining back the Ashes after a HUGE 15 months of England having them in their grasp.

There was nothing for Ricky, the skipper, nothing for Glen McGrath and Shane Warne and nothing for Mike Hussey. Not even John Buchanan's son who sub fielded in the first test received an award!

In fact the only cricketers to receive awards were Mark Waugh and Stuart Law (who's now qualified to play for the Poms anyways!).

Makes you laugh even more at the Poms getting those awards doesn't it? ;)

I love my Aussie cricketers, but there are people out there doing far more important work and getting paid a lot less to do it. This is their day, and it shouldn't have to be shared by people who make the headlines every week of the year.

As for the Pom cricketers getting MBEs, that was the biggest insult imaginable to all other MBEs.

I know what you're saying. This thread of course was tongue in cheek.
