By the looks of the SA side on Baggygreen Dan Cullen is carrying the drinks and Cullen Bailey has got a spot in the Xl.

SA are batting and are 0/18 off 8 overs. They appear to be going with the same batting line up which I think is good if you give the kids a shot give them a decent one I say.

Unsure on leaving Dan Cullen out guess he hasn't set the world on fire this season.

They had to play Bailey, and if Cullen isn't in great from then his spot is in doubt.

And yet Mathew ELLIOTT continues to get a game.
What a morale booster for the team.

Dan Cullen deserved to be dropped. Cullen Bailey deserves a chance. He's a much better prospect IMHO.

Why not bat CULLEN at 3 instead of ELLIOTT

Thats not true mal. Young dan would probably out score Elliot at the moment.

Should also note that Plant and Borgas put on 43 for the first wicket. Is that a record the redbacks this season?

when Daniel Harris opened[his spot] we had some good starts
Harris's punishment for going well when opening was to get dropped to number 4
and he has failed since, another f....g blunder by the selectors

If he couldnt make any at 4 he wasnt gonna make any opening IMHO- Older ball= easier job against a purely pace attack

NorMALly a batsman who cant score at 4 would not score opening the batting.
In Dannys case its the opposite, he was going very well opening the batting
and has now stagnated at 4.

Yeah Iv noticed the trend too, but think its more to do with form than position...
He's a good player, he will come good wherever he bats

im thinking we F**K THE coaches off and ELLIOTT and keep the same players but introduce new coaches and see how we go next year.

the players performance hasnt been up to scratch but i also think that the selectors have made so many blunders this season its ridiculous and heads should roll..........

The retenion of a wicketkeeper who has been underpeforming for so long
Dropping Ferguson who as a batting average far superior to a 35 yo has been.
I dont know who tinkers with the batting order but players have been unsettled by it

MT79 is advocating a new coach.....todays advertiser report vindicates his judgement.

I posted sack flipper, not long ago and was shot down pretty quickly saying it wasnt his fault, the players are to blame??? if a side is underperforming the buck has to stop somewhere, why are the players underperforming? because there is something obviously wrong in the set up, who manages all this, the selectors and coach...simple...f@#k em off

And at what stage are the players accountable? Coaches and selectors can't go out in the middle and make runs for them. Sacking the coach is a football thing because it's easier to sack one person than 20. I'd hate to see that enter into cricket. There's far more to coaching than win/loss ratios.

It's easy to judge in hindsight, but how many of us would have made the very same selections?
Elliott had to be chosen, and he made runs early on, so they've been giving him every chance to prove himself. His retention in the team of late has been because of Boof's absence.
No guarantees Cleary would have been successful.
Cosgrove is an ACB contracted player, and they would be making it very difficult for the Redbacks selectors to drop him from the team.
I don't know of any "mishandling" of Blewett ... do you? All I've heard is lot of whingeing from Blewett.
Seaming pitch at Adelaide? Really?
The selectors gave Manou every chance and have now dropped him through lack of form, as they have done with Ferguson, and as they will do with Elliott once Lehmann returns.
As for "tinkering" with the bating order ... wouldn't you? It hasn't worked at all, so they have to try something.
Be fair ... to blame selectors for the way the Redbacks have played is to ignore the real reasons, all of which I have addressed at length in earlier posts.

Not sure how to break this to you CP, but Pura Cup is not the elite level of cricket, it's a breeding ground for the Test and ODI teams.

BLEWETT was quite clearly being mis-managed when you still have an avg like he does you should be in the team. If he wasnt in the team at the start then he should have been in at x-mas time!!!!!!!!!!!!

COSSIE may be an ACB contracted player but if he isnt performing wouldnt it be in his best interests to put him back to grade cricket where he can try and get some runs rather then continually following in ELLIOTTS foot steps by getting out cheaply.
