My New Rule for 1 Day Cricket

After watching balls get changed regularly, due to damage etc, & the Batsmen friendly conditions, my proposal is this:
The Bowling side gets a new ball at the start of the innings, & at the end of the 25th over.
Thoughts?
My opinion is it would do more to liven up the game than this ridiculous "Power Play"

They used to have a new ball used at either end didn't they?
It's not a bad idea Punk. Would at least give the bowling team an advantage. But would this see the end of the spinners?

Yes, they used to use a different ball from each end. When they changed to just using one ball scores began to increase. Not saying the ball is the only reason but just one of the reasons scores have got higher and higher in the one day game.

It sounds okay to me. Can't see any reason why not, and it might just put some life into the dullest point of the game (overs 25 to 40).

the spinner thing is the only issue, i guess they can bowl 5 overs between 15 and 25 and another 5 between 35 and 45, however playing more than one spinner would be pretty hard.
an advantage would be that it would give a reason to shake up the powerplays, take one at the ten over mark and another with the new ball at 25 overs.
