and i was actually going to praise sa for innovative decisions, and in my opinion not a bad decision either as cullen has bowled quite economically without taking bags of wickets so using him early could be a good ploy

Tait has celebrated his World Cup call up by bowling a shit load of wides today. 8 in total for about 11 runs or something.
Qld 1/51 14th over

Big collapse by the Bulls.
5/105 off 30.3
Boof just took a nice catch off his own bowling.
RYAN HARRIS has 2 wickets too. Good to see him finally take a couple.
6/105 now as Boof gets another, he has 2/5!

Cosgrove puts one down at 1st slip off Tait. Never easy in the slips but as far as slips catches go this was pretty straight forward. If it was a hotdog i don't reckon he would have dropped it

Does bloody Andy Bichel enjoy batting against the Redbacks or what!! I thought to myelf when they were 6/100 odd he'd come in a torch a quick 30 odd. So far 21 of 14 balls with two sixes. Arsehole does it every time

Bloody Fatscrove. How many times does he get out like that. Chopping it on playing a very very lazy shot. It happens all the time. He needs to lose weight firstly and secondly put that lazy little dab shot away for good. The guy has so much talent it frustrates the hell out of me watching him waste it the way he is.

Ferguson

How can any player who makes it to State level as a batsman get out like that. It was simply embarrassing. A player at no. 4 who gets out the way you would expect a number 11 for some country z grade to get out. Unbelievable.
On the positive side Elliott's innings has probably saved his spot in the side for the next couple of seasons

We should win with a bonus point. Boof has been great since coming in and Elliott has done this almost all season in the one dayers. How he can be so brilliant in the short game yet absolute rubbish in the longer version.. well i have no idea.
We are peaking at the right end of the season.. again. Just a pity it's a top 2

SA win easy
who will be man of the match
ELLIOTT 89*[115]
TAIT 4/32[8.3]
I reckon TAIT by a whisker.
BOOF 30* [29] what a player, was batting 2 feet outside leg stump at times.
ELLIOTT is simply stunning.
428 runs in the f/cup
Is now on 10 points and leader in the Foxtel best o/d player of the year.
ELLIOTT was awarded man of the match.

why cant the bloke score a run in the bloody pura cup?? are we gonna come home with a rush like 2 years ago and then everyones shortcomings will be forgotten again? i hope not, we need a cleanout at the saca, starting with flipper followed by blewett and any other of flippers mates piss 'em off i say! and bacchus is just the person to wield the axe he wont root around thats guaranteed

Marsh is one of Flipper's best mates. Should he kick himself out too?

It's one thing to advocate a clear out but it's another thing entirely to have the depth you need to enable such a course of action. Time for an import or two perhaps? Elliott hasn't really worked consistently and others such as Flower were a disaster. I think the problem with recent imports is that they haven't been world class like a Garner, Richards or Sobers. I believe the Redbacks need a marque type of player to lift the side but this type of import is difficult to lure to Australia these days due to the increase in matches being played at International level.
For what it's worth I don't think the Redbacks are as bad as many on here suggest...they've had Lehmann out of the side, Elliott out of form and Blewett out of favour. Spin tyro Cullen has had a season he'd probably like to forget and Cosgrove needs a boot up the arse for his efforts this year. He showed in the Pura cup match at the Gabba that he has the ability. It is the coach's job to extract that ability and Flipper has failed in that regard. If a few of those negative factors are overcome next season then SA will once again feature in a final of a domestic competition.
regards,
REB

Totally disagree with Marquee player theory REB. Anyway wasn't Andy Flower rated in the top 3 batsmen in the world when he arrived at the Redbacks?? If that isnt a marquee player i dont know what is and that worked pretty well!!
The talent is there
