An emphatic victory to Australia.
What a comeback by the world champions after being beaten
by EG and NZ in recent series.
World Cups bring the best out of teams and we have bravely won our first game.
Those who wrote AU off will now be trembling.
AU 6/334
HAYDEN 60[73] is that all
GILchrist 46[55] is that all
PONTING 113[93] champ
HOGG 40*[15] what a blast
WATSON 18*[11] ran out of overs for his hundred
SC 131
MCGRATH 3/14[6] those who wrote off ooh aah are silenced
HOGG 1/16[7] rose to the occasion
WATSON 0/18 [7] disgraceful effort
Disapointments HUSSEY failed[thats a few in a row, but he will bounce back]
HAYDEN/GILchrist getting starts and not converting tons.
Well we now tackle the might of Netherlands next game and Im predicting 2 in a row
for our rejuvinating nation

Yes, let's wait until we beat a real cricket superpower before we get excited.
Someone, like, say The Netherlands.

George showed how to bat in the final overs. Pity the bloke at the other end is a one trick pony and can't adjust his game to suit different situations.

Realistically this game showed us nothing. Can't believe i stayed up and watched it. I mean me, i don't even like ODI's

I actually watched more of the Canada v Kenya game. Kenya looked OK and could cause an upset over NZ or Eng. Don't be surprised if they make the super 8 stage.

Australia obviously didn't under estimate Scotland.
But....to over rate a performance against a minnow is a little silly - you shouldn't over rate a performance against a side like that.

It was a worry that Tait went for nearly 6 an over against Scotland though

True, but he was either going to rip through them or get spanked. With the size of the oval, it didn't take much to get to the boundary. The boundary straight was only 60 metres! With Taitys speed, the ball will fly.
