I think we need some more debate/discussion on Shane Watson.
We've bearly skimmed over the merits of this blokes continued selection.
Here is the opinion who might know a bit about being an all-rounder...

The SOBERS interview has been taken out of context
Heres the rest of the interview :
The reporter asked :
" Gary you had an amazing batting average of 57, but in all honesty against average players in the 60s,
if you had to face Shane Watson what would you think your average would be?"
" IF I HAD TO FACE WATTO ON A REGULAR BASIS MY AVERAGE WOULD BE ABOUT 47 NOT 57."
" Gary if you had to bowl to WATTO what would your bowling average of 34 be like?"
" IN ALL HONESTY IF I WAS TO FACE WATTO ON A REGULAR BASIS MY BOWLING AVE WOULD GO FROM 34 TO 44."
The disappointed reporter thanked Mr SOBERS for his honesty called him a fraud and told him
" Your piss weak SOBERS your over-rated im gunna expose you and put this up on the Internet for all to see."
The reporter walked to the back door and SOBERS called out.
" BE SURE TO MENTION ON THE INTERNET THAT PLAYING AGAINST WATTO AT 70 IS ....."
As ive said and Gary says his body language on the field is what shits people off.
His batting is very good in the top order, he will be a fine batsman in tests.
His bowling for a 5th bowler in o/d games is ok.
He is a batsman who bowls

Well he should know. Can't argue with much of that. The claim that he could make the Aussie side as a batsman might not be entirely correct right now though. He is good enough with the bat to make runs at international level but there are plenty of guys available that are better than Watson in this regard.

The link above from 1980TM sounds a bit more realistic .... some home truths.
But this one :

Makes it sound all rosey.
Easy to manipulate comments!

When the Australian cricketers were summoned for a team meeting, & were informed that Pakistani coach, Bob Woolmer, had died of a heart-attack, Shane Watson stood up & said "what's a heart?"
