Andre Nel.... The biggest Dickhead in cricket????

During the current test series, one player has stood out in my mind as being an absolute wanker.... Andre Nel beats Pietersen or in fact Bowden in a dickhead competition everytime.

Why Nel feels the need to stare the batsmen down, not just once or twice, BUT AFTER EVERY SINGLE BALL pisses me off to no end.

What are everyones thoughts on this dickhead? And don't hold back. Let all your frustration out on this matter.

must agree

how funny he tries to be the tough man .. eye and verbal sledging but gets a comment from the crowd and starts crying

what is it with the new breed of South African players.... all ego .. smith ,they talk the talk but dont walk the walk

mind u he does take wickets nel..

Can see where you're coming from bay boy but I think he's just one of those guys who is a great competitor and has a bit of white line fever but in his case it doesn't seem to kick in until he gets brought into the attack.

Look beyond the obvious. Andre Nel is a fierce competitor. Boony got it right the first time..it is Smith who is the biggest wanker in this side. A lot of Nel's antics are motivational bravado. Did you see him laughing it up with the crowd and signing autographs the other day. BTW, racism is out, no matter what you think of the person.

Well said ORDoubleBlues & REB...... he's a fierce competitor and he doesn't mind having a laugh. Just like many Aussie players over the years. As for staring down batsman, you know that 90% of the game is in the mind... Warneys been doing it for a decade.

Another character, great for cricket

Andre Nel is a fantastic character, something which cricket has always delivered over the generations, and is great for the game imho

Well after reading some of the comments, i have to admit i probably didn't look beyond the obvious. I'm sure he is a fierce competitor, but you can be fierce and still have some good sporting grace about you.

Someone like Adam Gilchrist is a fierce competitor, but he is a good sport and conducts him self in the right manner.

Where as Nel has no grace, which i guess is why he annoys me.

I don't like the way he bowls, all over the place.

Well, thats how to break a topic down to the bare roots My-t-Egirls.

Nel has one draw back for me,one ball he runs down the wicket and gives the batsman the "eye",two balls later he gives the guy a pat on the back and a hearty smile, now is he playing good cop/bad cop?

He is a pretty good performer, bowls a good line, his length is all over the place but his good balls are going to get even the best out at times.

And yes Rik E,I was right some time ago,Smith is a pratt.I am overjoyed that he has failed to deliver any personal goods on this tour. His batting has been average and when you keep getting out in the same fashion over and over (LBW) you show technical ineptitude. His field placement has cost them with countless chances flying between the "floating slips" and he rarely made a change when we did get on top at any stage, seems as though plan A didnt work alot and plan B didnt exist.

Any way, good to see them head home again with their tail between their legs.
It appears as though the new look Aussie unit is going to be tough to beat over the coming months.

BTW,when does Brett Lee get to bowl down wind at the start of an innings,McGrath is no faster up or down breeze? Time to hand the mantle over I think Pidge.

I was really in tow minds here should we actaully be allowing people to call players, coaches, commentators etc "dickheads" or not. Then i just thought about it and said to myself "it the glove fits".

Nel is no better, no worse than some of the dickheads who have worn the baggy green over the past ten years.
